Depends on the drug found and the amount. If it’s a small amount, first offence etc the legislation is they have to attend intervention sessions and not have charges preferred. It’s not above the law, it is the law.

Think it won't affect him getting another home but hopefully it reduces his new contract offer so crows get pick 20 instead of pick 2 as compensation.

Just spitballing, but it might have been a small amount of the substance in possession, as well as (as far as any scale can apply) accounting for the type of substance in possession.

Without having any further detail, it's all just speculation really.

Edit: @Ethan Tremblay not only beat me to it, but articulated it better.

Crouch may get a diversion but this is Stengles 2nd major offence. He got into serious strife in April.

Far better to focus on a couple of Langdon-quality players at $500K each than paying up to $1M for Crouch.

Bet you've said that once or twice before!

If he wasn't charged he's still a 'cleanskin', whatever that is, so it shouldn't alter Geelong's interest

Not for the possession of the substance but I’m sure he’ll be subsequently tested.

Crouch household right now:

Yes, I dont think Geelong will touch him now, meaning they will go hard for Viney

Yes they will. They are cleanskins.

No club in the competition are cleanskins 'bobby'...

If any club had a no illicit drug policy & really went hard to enforce it they wouldn't be able to field a team.

cheers for the info

I wonder if the cops don't like you much if they can charge you at their discretion?

like a Shannon Noll-type unofficial law

They just strike me as a club that would not tolerate that sort of thing. Culture, there is a reason they have been at the top end of the league for a long time. Again, watch them come hard for Viney now

Culture is a myth in this case...

Just take a look at their Premiership coach (not Scott the other one) to understand that.

Drugs are rife in all AFL clubs 'bobby', that one got out of the bag a long time ago and isn't going back any time soon.
