Sir Why You Little 37,457 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Nought are above us on the ladder. I always hate that 1 Quote
DubDee 26,674 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Beating the Crows on Wednesday won't mean much. they are an absolute rabble. That north team is average at best Quote

Pates 9,697 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 If we don’t completely murder the crows (pun intended) I’ll be p-ssed. 1 Quote
Dee Zephyr 19,311 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Hmmm, since there’s been a couple of anniversary threads lately rewind back to our R10 2007 game against Crows and the team sitting at 0-9 got its first win of the season. Giving myself nightmares already. Quote

Pates 9,697 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Just a thought about the upcoming game and in some ways using North as inspiration (urgh that tastes bad in my mouth). Shaw may have pulled a mini-master stroke here by dropping Brown and Polec which in turn motivated the players, but also gave Polec and Brown extra time to prepare for us. The Adelaide game could be a really good opportunity to drop some underperforming players and hopefully have them in better condition for North. Given Brown’s annual desire to destroy us I’d be shocked if at the very least he didn’t come back for them. Quote

dazzledavey36 56,333 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 The saints have sped right past us. Their young talent coming through and also smart recruiting like Butler and Jones have been a master-stroke. 2 Quote

I really rate Ratten as a coach as well, I would’ve been keen for us to have him but sometimes timing is everything and we just didn’t have that. But infuriating to see them doing so much better than us, that said it won’t surprise me if the they have a later year dip. 1 Quote

Watts the matter 1,235 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 (edited) Watching all the smashings this week. If we don't beat Adelaide by ten goals, it is a fail. Edited August 1, 2020 by Watts the matter Quote

Beating Adelaide will be the clubs aim, but they’ll likely get comfortable after that and go down in the next couple Quote

We had beaten the Eagles at the MCG a few weeks before and looked like we could push for finals. Then Sydney pumped us at the MCG in front of like 5000 people for their first win in more than a year. Don't discount the Crowd. They will see us as very beatable. 1 hour ago, dazzledavey36 said: The saints have sped right past us. Huge indictment on our recruitment and development as a club. They are flag smokies imo. Quote
dees189227 12,512 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Gee just imagine if the saints didn't give up there big leads and lose to nth and freo Quote
trout 385 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Cats v Eagles has started very well, hopefully the whole game is like this. Quote
Earl Hood 6,167 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 A free kick was brought back because a Geelong player blocked the Eagles player on the mark that allowed the Cats kicker to run around the mark. Hasn’t Hawthorn been doing just that for 10 years? 1 1 Quote
doc roet 1,302 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Just watching Geelong and WC go at it makes me realise how far behind we are as a football team. This is football, not the crap we dish up with our basketball/wrestlemania style of play. 2 Quote

Watts the matter 1,235 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Geelong are crap to watch, but there chip it around plan seems to work. Quote
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Eagles are going to roll the Cats which is great, but this last quarter has been fantastic. Both clubs going hard at it. It's been great to watch. Kennedy is really turning back the clock here. Has kicked three in the last to get them over the line. 1 Quote
