Yep. Doesn’t look good. Maybe a scratch to the cornea? God that would hurt so much ?

Well we are still a stupid team with no skills.

I mean, seriously.

If we could hit targets properly we would be in front.  We get it to the wing and then either miss the target or [censored] fart around with it and turn it over.  Horribly frustrating to watch.

You can see we are trying to change things up, but as it always is with us, skills and turnovers kill us.  I'd like to think we can fix it up but with a slippery ball it makes us look even worse.  Plus you get that sick feeling in your stomach when they get it off half back, turn inside and they have runners everywhere.

Great chase down by Vanders.  He needs to find another gear other than chasing / pressure though.  Lets hope its coming...albeit maybe gradually.

If he gets there he's a VG asset / bonus

GC were a 3-4 goal better team that quarter. We look completely uninspired. There's no identity to what we do. GC have a clear goal and they are bullying us.

So many stupid turnovers and fumbles that are turning what should be uncontested possessions into losing contested possessions

We look like we are at least trying to compose ourselves. Langdon playing well. We look better with Oscar down back and lever looks to be more free has taken a few intercept marks

We are [censored].

McDonald unlucky. Hes slow but was working his [censored] off

First quarter of "trying to adjust our pace". We should have been doing it for years but assuming it was a real focus this week, it hasn't been bad. They still need to work out when to run and when to pause. But it's a good start.

We can't kick, can't handball and sure as [censored] can't mark. What an awful football team

The minute we turn it over they are all over us like a fat kid on cake. Everyone has worked out how to play us. Pressure. Force the turnover (or do nothing and watch us fluff a kick). Run hard the other way. Score.

Harmes can't even bounce the ball and then fumbles when we are out. Lever can't defend Weller. Gawn's stupid punch. We only have ourselves to blame. We are a bottom 2 side unfortunately.

Not enough really skilled players, especially once it gets forward of the centre. Breaking down on turnovers.

Plenty of GC pressure only adding to this.

Also zero composure. Again.

Yep ?

Everytime they do this idiotic hot potato hand passing or throw it on the boot we lose it

GC goals so far have been a bit flakey though

Chaos football suited our level of footy IQ. Unfortunately other teams have worked ou how to counter that style and exposed us as having more than our fair share of dumb as dog doodoo players.

Real shame T-mac copping that whack. He was providing a good presence up the ground.

Disagree.  In fact, I reckon we were the slightly better side... except for the turnovers which killed us.  If we cut those down by half we would be two goals in front.

Thats mostly team structure and playing to it.  There's a mid or two who are getting sucked out either too wide or too forward instead of guarding the corridor a little more*.  *Amatures best assessment from the bleaches without seeing behind goal footage.  Could also be an [censored] up assessment.

Better with Weidemen, Jetta and Bennell out there.

Eye hope TMAC is OK.

The other disappointing stat are the tackles.  While it's been a more open game, having just eight for the term is pretty poor.  I think our general pressure is okay, but we need to stick some more.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
