At some point a couple of teams will get their heads straight and rise a whole level above the rest.  Then we'll be watching 10-goal drubbings which are really 100+ point smashings, and just counting down the season to see which one sustains it through the finals.

On the bright side, with so much of the results being even more between the ears than usual, it is possible for just about any team to suddenly start running hot and becoming a late contender.

collingwood have advertising above their number on the back of their guernsey - are they the first club to have two sponsors on the back of jumper?

i know clubs are allowed to do it, but i thought it was existing boj sponsor getting double exposure, where's pies have cgu on front and cgu and emirates on back now

Well another night of turning down the sound so as i don't have to listen to Taylor. So bias towards Wobbles. They (umpires) apparently cannot see trips, pushes and throws, just to name a few faults in the second qtr. Never knew there was a new rule of " not high" if Wobbles do that either. GWS stepped up a gear this week and i hope they pummel the mob that could be in a lot of trouble if they aren't careful.

super congested and contested

low scoring suits the filth, but it keeps the oppo in the game...see also last year's prelim

Not a great game...yet again.

Let's hope they can break the mould in the 2nd half otherwise it looks like a good book and an early night.

GWS players need to start calling for the ball and not having 2 -3 people go up in a marking contest and spoil each other.

DeBoer doing a great job on sidebottom.

Come on giants beat the filth.

Compared to North and Bulldogs this is a free flowing game for the Giants.

The Cox selection appears wrong but I like watching him

Gawn v Grundy?? Grundy loves to tap  it straight to the opposition!!

The pies are well coached and have improved their kicking skills out of sight, hoping we can do the same!

But I think Gawn is better then Grundy and Trac way better the degoye

Giants have got this. Young Green looks a beauty

Green having an impact.  Gonna be a ripper this bloke once he gets his engine up and running at the level.  Plemty of score involvements.  great link man potential already

Actually its a good game. Collingwood back in it,

Davis doing his hammy is a massive loss for the giants.

Greene passing off to Cameron was just stupid. I hope Cameron didn't call for the cheap one out the back to get an easy goal. Greeen should have just gone back and put it through.

Jeremy Howe looks like a dislocated knee cap...

whats with the blonde look at Collingwood..?

Jeremy Howe gone.

Green has played a huge role in this last quarter to get them over the line with limited TOG as well

Mummy had the better of Grundy imo (just)...nullified him and squared many contests.

Might be one of those injuries where it looks worse than it actually is.

Unfortunately I think it looks as bad as it is...his  leg buckled.

As much as he annoys the crap outta me,  Heath Shaw was solid all night.  Cudos to the vet

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
