I just picked up daughter from her train trip home, we then went to the IGA to stock up for tonight's game, joining several other people who were doing the same... all legal I believe! I thought the team lists were relatively flexible until about 24hrs out from the match. Given the unusual year we’re having maybe we could ask for flexibility to make change particularly as it’s 2 players from the squad. Quote
GawnWithTheWind 604 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Guys, he’s played one senior game. There are 21 other players out there, if we can’t beat the blues without him, we’re in for a tough year. They lost Silvagni too, it’s about the same impact. 2 goals a game. 5 Quote

Nasher 33,686 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Disappointing to lose Kozzie in particular, but other than that it’s a bit nothing to see here. Two young men screwed up, cause the club and AFL a bit of minor embarrassment, get a minor sanction. On with life. 4 Quote
JTR 2,910 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Statement on MFC site says both caught an uber to unessential gathering. No mention why the difference in suspension length. Both are allowed to play in scratch match https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/704946 Quote
spirit of norm smith 16,679 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Breach??? 16 Crows players all breached the rules as well as the coaches. Their excuse? None, “we got it wrong”. And their punishment?? Be more careful next time. It’s ridiculous Quote
grazman 7,539 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 The club self-reported. I wonder what the AFL penalty will be for those that don't self-report? Footballers being footballers I can see a lot more breaches coming up for all clubs. Quote
Watts the matter 1,235 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I don't really get how they can play in the practice match? What is the actual reason for the suspension? It would make sense if it was the risk of exposing someone else and they were now isolating but this seems pretty stupid. 1 Quote
TeamPlayedFine39 8,525 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I would assume the difference would relate to their respective ages and level of experience in a professional football environment. Spargo is entering his third year in the AFL- absolutely no excuse for being so blaze about the rules. Pickett can at least point to the stupidity of youth and inexperience. 1 Quote

Aside from covid issues, I hope the fags were just curiosity or temporary lapse. I bought a pack for the first time in 5 years last night after too many beers. Had a few predictably digusting puffs and then through the packet in the bin. Bloody waste of money. Spargo being a regular smoker might explain why he doesn't have the energy to kick it 30m!
