Yeah, true Cards. On that subject I'm leaning more towards believing HL to be honest. Thinking back to how the whole horrendous Adam Goodes situation played out Eddie McGuire didn't possess the self awareness to stand down from his position and the club didn't have the cojones to make that call for him.

The hard thing for HL is that his "brand" is not great, so people will just think he is stirring up trouble "again" or he is a flake. Another disgruntled ex whatever. The other hard part is being white I've got no idea what he has been through but I believe him, it's not like he has made multiple complaints (making multiple complaints also isn't a reason to not believe someone).

I'm trying to be as open minded during this time as possible, I think people need to step back and not politicise race and not look to point score on negative or positive relationships they have. (not saying you are, just making the point).

You seem very selective in quoting the wisdom of the VCMO. He said the man was likely contagious at the rally.  That's as concrete as it gets without a test at the time of the rally.

Whether he got it from the rally is not the point - he was likely contagious at the rally. And it's a fact that a mask does not fully protects others. Is the risk worth taking? You should iso for 2 weeks.

No one here is hoping people get sick. That is more lies you have made, straight from the Donald Trump playbook of untruths.

Meanwhile, 16 USA states have just recorded new spikes in COVID cases only a week or so since the BLM rallies. I support the cause, but it's the wrong time to rally here.

Must be difficult for you to admit to being wrong.

I am not wrong, that is my opinion, based on information provided, nobody is asking you to agree with it, but you are asking me to agree with you, based on probably the same information

Likely is not concrete

You isolate if you display symptoms.s, that has not changed since the beginning, otherwise, everybody who was at the March, including the Police, Media should be in isolation, is that happening?

You want to read some Twitter, some are hoping so their opinion is proved correct, I am sure some on here have the same attitude

If you support the cause, why weren't you at the March?

Leaning towards?

Not sure which bit you don't get

Goodes, Wingard, Winmar, the treatment metered out to Eddie Betts on social media last year etc etc

There has always been an undercurrent of racism in footy as well as Australia in general

A lot of the noise is from Australians who don't want to accept that

'ET', those coppers who sprayed the pepper-spray,  and were not masked, they should also self isolate as well.

It is a pity that the Liberal party isn't as concerned about workers getting Asbestosis, Silicosis, and Black-Lung disease.   But they cannot make any political advantage, by mentioning these terminal illnesses.

Then there is the decisions of sending our troops into Iraq,  for weapons-of-mass destruction.  What a convenient Lie.

Political animals like SloMo, are born to deceive.    Yet they are church goers.

Pretty sure @Moonshadow just proved to you that they were actually wearing masks? You keep banging on about it 'Luded' but yet have nothing to show that backs up your claims?

It is a different city MFM has got the images mixed, Melbourne, most Police were masked, it's their protocol one or two had ditched their masks once the crowd has started to dissipate

The photos of police pepper spraying was Sydney

I think this is a really good example of a post that is baiting for an equally aggressive retort and why some threads on this site descend into slanging matches. I'm sure you're articulate enough to be able to express your anger at the treatment of indigenous Australians without projecting it onto what I wrote.

We just need to listen.... and learn and then make changes.

I’ve felt a deep sadness these last few weeks. Sadness about not doing enough, sadness about the incredible out in the open racism you see of forums everyday, sadness that without video evidence so many of the crimes committed against minorities would be swept under the rug, sadness that racism has become about which side of politics you’re on/who you vote for, sadness it won’t change for some years yet.

I really hope AFL clubs and players make a real stand moving forward.

Wrong again. Everyone can have an opinion, but the facts remain. Becoming contagious happens before symptoms appear. This guy showed symptoms 24 hrs after the march.

I support the cause more than you know, but I don't have to virtue signal by attending a rally or by claiming others who do not are not supporting blm. That's tokenism and it's hollow, but it's also my opinion.

I've had enough, so I'll leave you to get the last word, as you like to.

To be honest I don't watch any of these infotainment channels but I assume it would be the same as a "lefty" given a right of response on one of the Sky news programs. All of these are privately owned networks so there is no compulsion for anyone to give equal time to the "other" side. That's why it is so important to keep publicly funded independent services and not gut them like the LNP is doing with the ABC.

Would you say the ABC is impartial? (like it should be, being publicly funded)

The ABC deserves to be gutted as it is the only one who has a charter to provide balance, but stubbornly refuses to do so. It used to be a great media outlet back when i was a kid but has become nothing more than a Green-Left propaganda mouthpiece. It also seems to go out of its way to push the most critical viewpoint of Australia.

The Project is a great fit for the ABC come to think of it.

Amen. Glad to see some logic here.

What chance has he got when Goodes, who is not a flake nor a stirrer, got the reception he did?

Unfortunately HL is a bit like the boy who cried wolf, and it becomes easy for people to dismiss his claims.

If Goodes had no cut-through, HL has absolutely no chance.

Now, now, Saty, that smacks a little of a hypocritical Pom (please don't take that as a racist comment, I'm just being correct in my opinion). I agree there is a minority of people in Australia that hold what I think are racist views but the emphasis is on minority.

Please feel free to return to the UK where you could educate your majority Empire bigots on how it should be done. Although coming back from the colonies you might not receive such a caring  response as you do here. .

Virtue signalling, the new buzz word, can't come up with something of your own

Can't debate further, so you walk away, knowing your right

Anybody can say they support, actions speak louder than words

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said the man in his 30s was "very unlikely" to have acquired the virus at the protest and was not showing symptoms on the day, but he may have been infectious at the demonstration.

"I hope that anyone who has attended that [protest], and indeed across Victoria, who develop symptoms that are compatible with coronavirus really need to isolate themselves, get tested, get that result back and become well before they get out and about again," Professor Sutton said.

Lumumba must be a miserable, bitter individual. Four years out of the game and six years after leaving Collingwood, he is still bleating about the injustices of a society that has provided him with more money and opportunities than most people could ever dream of.

I note that he has never commented on the injustices of accepting a multi million dollar contract to play at Melbourne and then cruising around at about 25% intensity for two years before pulling the pin mid-contract (whilst expecting to be paid for the last two years).

The sad thing is that he has the profile and the resources to actually make a difference on significant issues if he put his mind to it, instead of pulling out the old "woe is me" card when it suits.

Read it properly, from the Vic Medical Officer confirmed it wasn't picked up at the rally, was pre existing, same as any other person, had symptoms and went and got the test

Same as if any of those tyre kickers that packed Victoria Gardens at the weekend, without masks and not hand sanitising, experienced the symptoms

I was compelled to attend not out of moral obligation, I did it because I thought it was the right thing to do

Hanson?

Of course it's political, would take politicians to change the constitution

Actually, it requires a majority of Australian adults in a majority of States to change the constitution.

But I agree that politicians make it political when it suits their own agenda to do so.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
