May will play Marsh Series Game 2. Max Gawn the same. McDonald also overcoming a minor setback. Likely to play Marsh 2.

There is a fair chance that none of those things will happen, particularly May. What makes you so sure?

Do we pick 26 for the Marsh games? I'd suggest we'll only just be able to field a full side this week based on recent updates.

it's 17 of February. Season starts in a month. Cool ya jets. May will play Marsh Series Game 2. Max Gawn the same. McDonald also overcoming a minor setback. Likely to play Marsh 2. I have no idea about VDB. Would love to know if he trained.

Wish I had your confidence. May has been out for 5 weeks already when it was thought to be very minor originally (new setback last week).

I hope you are right!

I was only at training for 45 minutes or so but Brayshaw was most definitely in the main group and fully involved. Suspect Smith was also.Barring unforeseen mishaps Gawn, Tmac & May almost certain starters for the Hawthorn game going by the banter in the rehab group. AVB no show. Petty is a worry.

This is what happens when none of the usual track watches show up to a training session; Demonland turns on each other.

With only snippets, we don't know who's tracking well and who isn't, so we begin to speculate. And in standard MFCSS, we think the worst has happened.

Are we still playing Essendon this Friday or is Casey turning up? Interesting to see how many fit players don’t get selected for the Marsh Series opener.

Where is this game going to be located, please?

May looked to be limping very noticeably today.

They ought to cancel the Essendon hitout as we're running our of players:

Here is the side for Saturday if we go ultra conservative and disregard players who are either currently injured, in rehab or have been in rehab for a large part of pre season:

B Jetta O Mac Hibberd

HB Harmes Lever Salem

C Langdon  Petracca Jones

HF Hunt  Weed   ANB

F  Fristch   Brown  Pickett

FOLL Jackson Oliver  Viney

INT J Wagner  Hore  Lockhart

       Sparrow   Jordan  Bedford

Rivers is literally the one and only player I couldn't sneak in. But could put him in for one of the others on the bench.

Unavailable - T Mac, Gawn, Brayshaw, Tomlinson, Preuss, Spargo, Hannan, Melksham, Petty, J Smith, VDB, May, Neita, Chandler and who ever else I've overlooked.

And hopefully all OK with T Mac.

The most recent training report indicated he rolled his ankle and didn't complete training.

(unless you believe the Friday training report when Lever kicked 6 on Weideman, and T Mac kicked 3 sausages in match sim)

The vision shows, he is just a little bit proppy on that knee. just a little.

I'd reckon he'll be back into main group within 7 to 10 days.?   Just a hiccup, so far.

Some Kade Chandler action that you've all been chomping at the bit for.

Just as long as all posts are winners, i don't mind.

Tom McDonald with ongoing knee management. Hopefully he comes good this year. He's possibly the most important player on our list at the moment, as he's our only proven big goal kicker.

That's OK,  we need our number two's in all positions to get more exposure, with some chop outs from our more experienced guys;  so the 2ic's get the support they need,  so they can take the game on with confidence.

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tp-melbourne-demons?year=2020&sby=15

It will be our 2ic's,  that take us to the big Dance in Springtime.

And looking through our youngest list players,  we have some talent there, to develop.  The future looks bright.

It's getting to that point with our current  2ic's,  the 26Yrs and younger,  who i think will be our regular finals nuclei.

Now for 2020,  and lets give the top 8,  a shake.

They consider it  in 'house'  via Hugh Laurie,  then TBA, when diagnoses confirmed.  after the event. ?

I thought it was an ankle. So much for our crack team of Demonland Trackwatchers.

He might have something separate with his knee but it was definitely an ankle/foot issue on Wednesday.

That is, unless T Mac's knee ends at his heel.

Think you'll find Brayshaw, Tomlinson, J Smith and O Baker might have a run somewhere. Not sure of the seriousness of Dunkley's ankle either.

Don't they essentially mean the same thing?

I was being a little facetious but it is probably up for debate.

They need to 'confirm' the severity of the injury before 'advising' of the potential length?

Ugh.

Who really cares.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
