Why would you go to Waverly?. even temporarily.

  1. Hawthorn are still there

  2. You cannot train at night, because the locals won't allow lights

  3. Facilities are already at AAMI.....same as what the Hawks have at Waverley, so what's the advantage ....except when we get shunted during the Australian Open.

  4. Waverley has a single oval, same as Gosch's

  5. If you go to Waverley, might as well keep going to Casey.

maybe because they could move management and admin there too? so, all in one place? otherwise i'd agree.

If it’s waverley as an interim… will the whole admin move out there as well I wonder? Ie will we get to be under one roof?

That would be the only reason to actually do it.

Ghosty can not be locked out of training permanently, maybe occasionally.

It would be a disaster if true.

I dont think its even possible to have a truly locked out session.... There's no Berlin Wall there!!

Apparently the Hawks are very close to moving out of Waverley - in time for us to start using it in December.

Sadly I’m back to square one, so to speak. I have to abide by the rules set by the new coach/president/CEO and if they don’t see fit to allow me in like the former coach etc. did then that’s how it has to be. I’d be prepared travel to Waverley but only if open sessions are held, it’s pointless otherwise.

@Ghostwriter im sure Richo will vouch for you. If not, tell Kingy that you provide a public service for all Demonland users.

If he doesn’t know what Demonland is………….we have to question if he is the right guy.

Closed sessions, hmmm?

Not an easy concept at a ground PARTIALLY SURROUNDED BY APARTMENTS

If it quits all this whinging, sure. Go there for 2 (or 5) years

Surely not all sessions will be closed. I get that some will be as King probs wants to work on the new game plan though.

If Ghosty and Kev are banned from training I call for a spill of the board…

And I’m not even joking.

Every session at Casey is closed. I can’t see why they’d be any different at Waverley. 🤷‍♀️ Although the captain’s runs and the flush runs which are currently at Gosch’s are always open and I’m sure that’s because they’re the not so serious sessions.

More to the point, if he doesn't know who Ghosty is...

I reckon you will be fine. I lived in Waverley Park for a few years, I can't see how they could practically close the sessions off. The residents would be livid too. Good spot to watch training, good viewing spot, decent Cafe, I reckon you'll enjoy it

Does anyone know any residents?

Apart from taking advantage track-watching-wise, a handle on slithera activity would be useful...

Mind blowing the oldest club in the AFL doesn’t have a home and doesn’t appear to be close.

Not good enough.

We do have a home... but its been compromised... and were nudged out

Fwiw

There's a public accessible walking/running track around the perimeter of Waverley

It's impossible to cordon it off

Just use a white board.

Worked well once before.

Don’t know

I sometimes meet my dad at the cafe under the grandstand at Waverley for breakfast and can't see any way it could be closed off for training. It's surrounded by a housing estate with multiple sets of steps leading down onto a granitic sand path around the oval itself. Anyone with an upstairs balcony at the rear of their house could also watch us train.

Well Demonland should probably band together and chip in to rent one of those flats that overlook for ghosty so she can do her reports

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
