WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

Surely Harley would be allowed to wear calf socks? I wore them for years as I had a tendency to strain my calves playing soccer and never strained again once I started wearing them.

That was post Bali. Not sure how many games he played afterwards (I thought only the one), but not sure if Harley would get the same approval from the league.

I may be wrong.

1 game only. Retired after the game.

A raised middle finger to the radical Islamic fascists who took all of those innocent lives. Remember that time like it was yesterday.

God bless the Nth Melbourne footy club for getting him back to a match fitness level that allowed a farewell game. Legend.

Looking at the vision of todays hit out, HB just glides across the ground. I wonder if Burgess has encouraged this gait or is it natural?

Play him.

Agree with Dermie about a midfield rotation spot to test the calf rather than starting forward.

That sniper rifle on his right foot will be solid gold for Tom McDonald and Jake Melksham.

Hudson and Robbo really dislike each other. That’s clear.

but I agree with the sentiment. Play him... if Tomlinson says he’s been hassling Goodwin by saying he’s right go then he’s too much of a talent to not include in the team.
I said earlier this year that it doesn’t take Noongar lads long to regain fitness so I have full confidence he can play and contribute right now. I don’t think Bennell would put his hand up and place the team at risk if he’s unsure of his body. The fitness staff are obliged to put him thru the wringer to find out anyway and if that’s been achieved then it’s a no-brainer.

He plays.

Natural. A smoother mover you'd struggle to find. Andew Mcleaid is a very apt comparison.

I know I have banged on it about it and at the risk of being captain obvious this guy is total A grade. Elite.

Easy to forget he was a number 2 pick. And before starting his shocking run with injury (compounded by off field dramas) he looked every inch worthy of that pick.

Again I repeat myself but we have a team of butchers. Just look at the clips of of our scratch match. Butchers.

Harley is a surgeon who I'f he plays will instantly become one of our 2 to 3 most important players.

Becoming very hard to control the excitement with all these reports. So many supporters excited by the prospect of Harley running out with us as early as next week, can’t even imagine how he is feeling.

Channel 7 Sport Report strongly suggesting he is playing.  Good times if so!!

Without the reserves as a guide to form it makes selection very interesting.

I've always hated it when people build up a bloke who has never played a game for us, but Jesus, I hope you are right.

Remember he has built himself up to match fitness before only to get injured again, but bloody hell his delivery skills would be a godsend for our ****ty inside 50's

Training and playing very different things as we all know, but in saying that i think play him, as many have said on here, his elite skills could make such a difference. its risk v reward, but that was the same as when we secured him, time to get the reward before the risk comes back.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
