Chicken legs alright. Noticed at Maroochy his calves are very skinny compared to the other players.

I noticed that when playing for GC his legs, partic lower legs, to be thin.

I like to think that Bennell's leg problems are entirely the fault of being contracted to two basket-case clubs. I suspect that's not actually the case, but thinking that gives me optimism that with proper care, he can be made into a successful player for us.

Welcome aboard the Dee train Bennell.

If he can get his body right then happy days.

Bennell, despite the injuries and related layoffs, has shown the MFC something special in his training and debutant presence as a Demon. He will make many commentaries appear as past exercises in sucking lemons. Good onyer, Harley - resume your rightful career in the RednBlue and take us to that Premiership! Wishing you every success ...

Thank you Tom Scully. He just keeps giving back to the Dees. The compo pick we got for him for us Hogan. Hogan got us May. May got us Bennell for nothing assuming he works out. Strange circus this AFL business.

How did May get us Bennell?

Having played together at Gold Coast, May put in a good word to Bennell about the Dee’s and convinced him to come on board. So I believe.

I firmly believe May will prove himself to be a wonderful recruit for this club.

His first year was an unmitigated disaster and he knows it, I get the sense he's a very proud person and wants to prove himself to be every bit the big recruit we expect him to be. I'm not sure if him being at the club got us over the line with Harley but having him and Langdon can't have hurt.

Always amazed at how players look better in our jumper

He looked good and fitted right in with the other members of the team today at the Team Photo shoot. Well done to the FD.

Round 3! ?

They said on the Demonland podcast tonight that the operation Harley undertook means he cant run for 9 weeks which is coming up shortly. Being conservative as Burgess is, that means we should start to see HB start to move around the track a little faster from now on. IMV Midyear or 8-9 weeks still a possibility. But it may take that long just to move out of rehab.

It would not worry me if he played a few games at Casey this year then was 100% ready for 2021 season

FD - yes, it is important to introduce new players when defending a premiership.   (Is that what you mean?)

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
