So important to our chances next year this bloke. 6 kegs dropped is a fair effort.

Cant question his pre-season commitment.

Injury free he is capable of a HUGE year.

*fingers toes and eyes crossed he stay fit all season.

As he stated it's equally significant that the entire backline have been able to train together as a unit. He also appears to be in a good place both mentally and emotionally which wasn't necessarily the case at times last season.

Seems like a ripping fella. Really open and honest too.

I sometimes think it flies under the radar a little just how healthy a working environment the club have created in recent years. It certainly seems to be helping guys like Maysie get the best out of themselves.

He's also dropped six blokes in training and is looking forward to many more in the real home and away stuff

As long as he saves something for that flggg Matheson from Brissie. Surely you couldn't be suspended for giving him a whack.

This is fantastic and a great start towards building for a big year. The other thing I hope he's working on (hopefully with the help of any coach other than Jordie Lewis!) is controlling his aggression to use it in a positive way. One of the big frustrations over his career is that he might get into some good form and ruin it with a 2-3 week stint from bumping someone.

It's important he stay injury free, it's equally important he doesn't do anything stupid to end up having weeks on the sidelines.

Massive year for him.

First time All Australian in 2020.

You heard it here first.

I think for me Just getting May on the park injury free would be a positive outcome for season 2020.

I remember one player a couple of years back saying he wanted to be remembered as a 'Hall of Famer'.....Not as a regular player for the MFC or a premiership player.....

Maybe we as supporters too shouldn't get carried away with expectations but I hope your right Jak.

I can’t remember which staff member said it, but the first time Oliver kicked a footy to a leading Tom McDonald last pre-season was in the 2nd JLT match.
Confidence is key and getting the repetitiveness of constant training, so you know instinctively what the other bloke is going to do, is the key to confidence.

Really like Steven May as a player.

Tough, honest, passionate and has leadership qualities. Plays with a bit of mongrel.

Hope he has an injury free year and repays the faith.

Would love to see him become an All Australian player in 2020. But let's just get him fit and playing every match this coming season as a starting point.

A few big "legal" hip and shoulders throughout the year would be nice to see too. Although would prefer all his agression focused on the ball and not the man in 2020.

May losing 6 k's is certainly a happy chappy. and that is a plus for the team.  Speaks well and  expecting him to do well and stay injury free He is pumped for  2020.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
