Well ... here it is ... are we excited... probably not

Coniglio has ruled himself out which leaves spots to be found for Greene and possibly Whitfield.

Richmond will be raging favourites and deserve to be.

Do GWS have someone to stop Martin, Lynch and Riewoldt?

Will Cameron do a Tredrea and sacrifice his game by playing upfield and allowing the likes of Finlayson to kick a bag?

And of course how will the prospective Demon in Tomlinson fare?

Ā

Pretty sure it's not here yet. Tigers should win, but GWS has me on the bandwagon.

In the battle between draft concessions and free agency, I'm going to go with my heart and say "Well, at least Richmond are an actual football club that has some kind of meaning, and at least they actually had to persevere through real adversity to get to the top".

I cannot get even a little excited about a GWS win.Ā  It quite simply would be bad for football.Ā  I'm already dry-retching at the headlines about the big turnouts and 'Giants army coming to training'.Ā

I want too see big Mummy inĀ perhaps hisĀ last game, run straightĀ through Martin, Cotchin and a few others early on.Ā I am sure that wouldĀ frighten the bejesus out of many of their team mates.Ā

In fact if I was Leon Cameron I’d have Mummy talking toĀ the media about his intentions right now! Remember Dusty giving Mummy a snort gesture earlier in the year? It’s payback time.Ā

The Bunyip Banger is looking for you Dusty! Good luck!

Really could not care.

I'm tipping general apathy will make it back to back wins.Ā

Could we have a repeat of the Alistair Lynch "massacre".

Had not thought about that.

could very well be a balmey first quarter

If Melbourne can’t win the premiership this year , then frankly I prefer if no one wins it.Ā Therefore GWS winning would be the closest thing to no one winning it IMO.

in all honesty though I think the giants are a sneaky chance this week, they are playing with momentum and have gone through playing on the road and missingĀ key players

tigers played their grand final last weekĀ

will be veryĀ interestingĀ

For anyone undecided who they want toĀ win, would you rather see 100,000 feral, rabid, arrogant andĀ passionate people shattered and heart broken after a loss or the 15 orange people that probably couldn't give a toss that they've lost and will move onto following Sydney Roosters the following week?
Ā

The answer's pretty simple i would've thought.

If Richmond win, they will equal our record of 12 flags.Ā  Duck fat!

They’veĀ won 6 flags I think since 1965 , now going for a 7th .Ā

7 flags since they interloped into the MCGĀ

True... interesting to see how GWS back up after a gruelling slog in the wet last week . Whitfield and Greene are handy inclusions though.Ā

I also think the Tiges too had toĀ dig deep after staringĀ down the barrel at HT last week , they were pretty average in the 1st half.Ā

GWS have been very physical with their starts over the final series.

Could be a fiery first quarter

Expect Dusty to be targeted.

With our luck they'll use Tomlinson and he'll come over with a six match ban !!!!

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
