A best on ground against North in round 23 sees Maxy finish with 17 votes for the year. Bloody impressive considering our results this year.

My mate loaded up on McCrae to finish top ten and Gill didn’t even have the decency to add some suspense to the last two rounds.

Thanks [censored] head!

I thought it was a black tie event so why does Danger think he can rock up in a red velvet jacket?

You would like to think that would drive a young player like Gus.

Whether something was physically or mentally wrong going into this year, he’d want to be fixing things.

I would just like to round out the year and thank the AFL for reminding me of the year that has passed.

Not only highlighting every round but emphasising Liam Ryan’s mark of the year over Gawn and adding McDonald-Tipungwuti’s goal into the mix for goal of the year.

And get him back into that fluoro green helmet - much more umpire eye catching than the red & blue number.

Yer it's like the AFL say lets rub salt into the wounds of the Melbourne football club.

Next thing we have to look forward to is watching gc laughing all the way to the draft, with our pick two.

So #*&%^@ sick of our club getting kicked in the guts.

If next year is going to be the same as this year, i think it will be all i can take.

Get your s*#^ together Melbourne, i have given you my life since i was eight years of age, i have put up with year after year of stick with us dee's fans. Enough is enough we are a laughing stock.

Maybe we should just go to the VFL at least we might be able to see one bloody flag.

I was tempted to bet on Sportsbet option of J Viney to poll a single vote but didn’t have the confidence. My doubts were warranted I guess.

No votes for Petracca either which was surprising.

Hard to tell apart at a black tie. Maybe waiters should wear smart casual....

Plenty of players who are valuable to the Club don't always get votes for playing a role as the umps don't see them!

If you were in any doubt about what type of season we had this year. GC had 5 players who polled votes which was the least for a club. We were second worse with only 7. Hawthorn had 14. Carlton & Saints 13.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
