Worst possible outcome. GWS vs Pies. Has there ever been a worse final?

Gutted for Brisbane.

The soulless GilWS into a prelim, how boring.

There will be room surely for them to fit both their supporters into the G?

At least it isn’t at their home hole with the amplified canned cheering  ?

3 of the 4 preliminary finalists are playing very average football.  So many clubs will be looking at this years as a big missed opportunity.

(Richmond will win at a canter)

Tomlinson ???  Gee, I dunno.

There is literally no one to root for next week. I probably hate Richmond the least but knowing that at least one of Collingwood/Giants and potentially the Cats are in the GF is nightmare fuel. Eagles, Bulldogs and Lions were all far more tolerable options and they're all out! [censored]!

Brisbane forwards have been a disgrace this quarter

They kept bombing down the line to the area where the Circus had a spare.  Silly strat.  Then when they finally switched the ball across HB (on one occasion only in the last), they got it to a free in Robertson who instead of keeping the ball live and bouncing up to the Arc,  launched it from the wing resulting in a shallow ball inside 50 which was easier defended and that was that.

Yep one of Richmond, Collingwood, Cats or Great Waste of Space will be Premiers......this season cannot end quick enough.

He looks VERY ordinary at best.  Another list clogger.

He was complete rubbish. 7 possessions and had a direct turnover which resulted in a Brisbane goal.

Full credit to GWS at the end of the day. Showed composure when it mattered.

We identify a need for outside run and the bloke we identifies plays in the ruck.

Can't believe Fagan didn't get Martin back on until about a minute and a half to go.

Was a little proppy with about 10 to go and went to the bench but you need to have your best players on the ground, especially the followers, in that last 5 minutes.

Nice throw by the Circus which got the ball going forward for their winning goal.

$600k... puts him into the top ten at least pay wise. Is he worth it ????

Brisbane have had their chance... remember when we sold them wins

Go Giants

Played ruck for about 20 minutes approx SK.  Looking at the rest of his game he had little to no impact unfortunately.

Our last 12 seasons, bar one, have ended even quicker WWS.

Yeah, I did hear that RN , just watched the last quarter and I am being a bit dramatic but I was underwhelmed.

Ugh so the premier will come from collingwood, giants, tigs or cats. I might just build a bunker somewhere and come back out half way through October. This is the worst possible outcome.

I do not want any of them to win.

But watching brisbane dominate in that final quarter was like watching melbourne. Had the ball but could not convert. What was with the players kicking to the boundary, why did the forwards all lead to the boundary.

Chris Fagan would be very frustrated.

One of the worst umpires finals I can remember. They really lost control of it in the first half and Lions did a Dees in the second

Richmond and GWS granny. I hate the filth and Geelong. I give GWS a good chance next week.

Brisbane like us also got too many players sucked into the contests and leaving a GWS player to get free over the back in their virtually empty forward line with a couple of minutes to go was very callow. Back line should have been packed solid. Enjoyed Stefan Martin’s game though. Monstered the Mummy.

Notice in the first half at least the number of times the ruckman took possession at the centre bounce.

Duhhhh..... Goodwin

Frustrated for a couple of weeks maybe..

Bloke would be rubbing his hands together with the team he’s got on his hands. This years achievement was premature.

Id kill to have what they have. They play for keeps...something out players don’t do. It’s all too hard..

Luke Hodge retires - what a career he’s had. Looked tonight like he could have gone around again!

What a game by Charlie Cameron after getting that injury in the first minute.

Hyper extending the elbow. Wow that would be so painful. But he played a cracking game

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
