He says Goodwin is too stubborn and has never seen a single Dees loss - he thinks they're all just bad days!

If only he'dĀ taken a leaf out of Norm Smith's book - Norm watched endless replays of the '54 GF defeatĀ over and over again, analysing where the Dogs picked us apart. Made the team bullet-proof for a decade.

Goodwin had the same opportunity to win 5 premierships in 6 years and completely blew it.Ā

Not bad! :)

I've heard very similar. it's his way or the highway. and some he's getting a few players offside as well.Ā

Sadly if half the stuff flying around is true we may need to make that decision soon.Ā

Do u mean get rid of goody before the end of the yr if it can’t be rectified?

Yep. i've heard he's got a lot of people offside just being incredibly stubborn, unable to take critisism and unwilling to change.Ā

it's players, assistants, staff.Ā

Buckley and Hardwick were similar but they changed. Goodwin either needs to change or go in my opinion because we can't lose good football people over this in my view,Ā

Was this known when he was there under Roos?Ā

I'm not sure about under Roos. but i've heard Peter Jackson and Jordan Lewis were both at stages concerned about it. as was Macca. but ultimately when we're making finals and in a prelim it doesn't seem like as big an issue as when we're 17th.Ā

there was stuff about this flying around at the time of the pre season camp drama, so it's been going on a while, but i think this season has really made a few people show their true selves a little bit.

Admin have alegedlyĀ lost a few already but more than likelyĀ unrelated.Ā  Possibly coincidental.

Edit:Ā  one of those apparently instigated by the club (early cost cutting in prep for expected revenue loss in 2020?).

McCartney, Jennings now Rawlings leaving......Goodwin under the pump big time which is to be expected.Ā

The word around the club is that Rawlings was a great communicator, transparent, driven & a bloody good tactician & coach.....well respected by all players too.

Good luck Jade.

I heard that the entire board come down to the footy department on one occasion and Goodwin kept referring to David Thirin as a 'suit' before taking his polo off punching his chest and howling strange noises kind of like a war cry. My source said at the time the bahaviour seemed a bit bizarre but shrugged it off as dancing the fine line between genious and insanity. True story.Ā

By that i mean, he has been told. He has to learn to work with others, very quickly.Ā

Thanks for the comments on this.

If Buckley can change, anyone can.

I have faith in Pert and the Board not to sit on their hands after this year ( and last year's heroics)

Wow Huge day...

You ought to try it some day, giving back to the community, it gives perspective to life rather than sitting on a computer whinging about why a football side is losing games.

Possibly would’ve been a really good senior coach for us this year.

Don't understand, we move Rawlings away from Casey 1/2 during the season & then he walks?

Whats that say about the club?

It’s fine. I have known my source for many years. Some of his info has been first hand 100% whilst at other times he is hearing down the line.Ā

Football Clubs do lie...

How stupid is that comment - a club can’t speak lol - people lie not company’s or clubs - Ā also Goody is like our next Frank Checker Hughes. Ā Norm is a legend of course but Checker coached him and mentored him , was with him for all 10 flags. Ā Checker is the most underrated character in AFL history!

It says that his younger brother is the new CEO at North and has offered him more money to come back to one of the clubs he played at.

Why areĀ so many assistants leaving is the question?Ā

Because we are making changes after a poor season.

Question Red. Are we asking them to move on, or are they leaving us?Ā

Big difference I’d suggest.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking?Ā I mean by ā€œtheyā€ the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack.Ā Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winningĀ 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
