East Fremantle 7.13.55 won its Colts final against West Perth 3.8.26 this afternoon. Taj Woewodin didn’t hit the scoreboard but managed 23 disposals (12k, 11h), 8 marks and 5 tackles. He’s consistent!

There are a few decent footballers in that team. Corey Warner (brother of Sydney’s Chad) was on the opposite wing to Taj in the WA vs SA game a couple of weeks ago and Josh Browne starred in the midfield for WA. Jed Hagan is an under age player who isn’t eligible until next year. These blokes will all be playing in the AFL soon.

Not only do we get to watch the Demons play on grand final day but we also get to see a future demon on display also.

Taj Woewodin’s team East Fremantle Sharks won their Colts final yesterday. Taj finished with 19 disposals which was slightly on the low side compared with his recent output in the mid 20s.

It’s going to be interesting to see what impact an interstate challenge match between WA & SA during ongoing finals series for both states.

Also got named 4th best as well in yesterday's performance.

It'll be interesting to see where draft experts place Woewodin.

In the past few months his consistent performance at WAFL Colts plus his game against SA would have pushed him a little further up the draft.

I think getting an invite to the AFL national combine after initially missing out shows clubs are now starting to take notice.

wouldn't be the worst thing if he went undrafted after we nominated him and we can slide him onto the rookie list same same with andy moniz-wakeford. but i gues we do have to take 3 draftees minimum again

Correct me if I’m wrong… but I thought once the National Draft is done, Father/Son counts for nothing and those players go into the general pool.  He could then be picked by any club in the Rookie Draft and we can’t match the bid.

No. If we nominate him and no one bids in the national draft, he automatically gets attached to our final pick in the rookie draft. (To my understanding)

Yes I think this is correct.

Taj not named for GF day. I'm assuming the reason being is he has a PF the next day as none of the East Freo stars have been named in the WA team.

Taj is playing in a Preliminary Final for East Fremantle Colts but these are the teams for tomorrow’s curtain raiser WA-SA TEAMS: Young guns to light up Grand Final day

Jed Hagan is a freak, his running ability, tank and desire are like nothing I’ve seen since Ben Cousins.

I reckon he’s shooting up the draft boards next year and both WA sides will be trading with a view to him next season for the 2022 draft

Taj will now join a club that is the current premiership team and the joy on their faces was great.

A reminder as to what his father looks like these days

How good was it to see Woey in the guernsey and genuinely looking delighted! It'd be awesome if his son plays for us!

Fantastic too to see Allen Jakovich - great work by Gary to coax him into the rooms (and how good was his nervous f-bomb!).

The East Fremantle Colts lost a heart-stopping Preliminary Final by 2 points to bow out of premiership contention. Taj Woewodin continued his consistent form with a 22 disposal, 1 goal game. Hopefully, some of our Demons out west might have caught up with the game and can fill us in on how he went.

Great to see “Woowee” (Woey) back embracing it in his 2000 GF jumper, still looks fit.

The great man, the mystery man, Allen Jakovich , the shooting star. That really brought a tear to my eye. Dad and I loved  and bonded over Jaka and then he just vanished, so happy to see him back in love with the club.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
