This should be aย reminder to those supporters who claimedย "it's onlyyyy one bad year".

Every year is an opportunity missed not only to challenge for a flag, but to attract quality, to keep players happy, coaches happy, supporters on board and finance in order.

It's a snowball effect and if we have indeed missed out on him it's a big loss.ย

meanwhile Mark Stevens & Tom Browne ch7 colleague barely 24 hours earlier felt he was a good thing for re-signing @ the pies. Wonder what they'll say in the next 24 hours?ย

Exactly.

No point getting emotionally invested in anything during trade time- it either changes by the hour or was never true to begin with. ย Itโ€™s basically the bachelor.

@Demonlandย will have to get a restraining order out on the guy, wow.ย

Anyway...for Browne to say weโ€™ve resigned ourselves to not getting Elliott itย sounds to me like heโ€™s spoken to someone at the club. Or maybe heโ€™s just talking out his [censored]? Who knows, weโ€™ll know soon enough I suppose.

Elliott's brother lives there and saw somewhere they are going onย holidays together. Maybe just a visit to hear what the Lions are offering?

Heโ€™s heading off on a vacation today or tomorrow so it makes complete sense to go and see their facilities before he goes away.

You cannot be serious Charlie Spargo compared to Jamie Elliot??

Well Typical MFC Cannot lure real talent!! Just typical!

Charlie Spargo will be 10 x the player Jamie Elliot is, that is unless Elliot accepts our offer.ย

This will be the last big contract of his career- he would be negligent not to.

Absolutely. Iโ€™ve heard his hamstrings are done and when heโ€™s in rehab he likes a beer. Bullet-dodged Neo from Matrix style.ย

When he toured our โ€˜facilitiesโ€™ he brought his dog and it dropped a turd in the middle of the paddock, he knew then and there he wasnโ€™t coming to us.

โ€œAsย The Ageย reported on Saturday, the Demons launched their bid for Elliott weeks ago while Fagan met him recently. The Lions reportedly had used their injury-free run in 2019 as a selling point to the oft-hamstrung forward.โ€

Umm ok. We got lucky with injuries this year, it's bound to happen next year too. ?

Don't both clubs share a car park? Would be bloody awkward for him if so. Maybe building another car park and wall to keep out the undesirables first on the agenda...

So has he made a choice yet or are we just wrist for nothing?

Whatever his choice we should be happy they fenced off the West gate bridge

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
