It's a circus led by two absolute clowns

That's what happens when you fire in every which way, one of them is bound to hit eventually

This should be a reminder to those supporters who claimed "it's onlyyyy one bad year".

Every year is an opportunity missed not only to challenge for a flag, but to attract quality, to keep players happy, coaches happy, supporters on board and finance in order.

It's a snowball effect and if we have indeed missed out on him it's a big loss.

meanwhile Mark Stevens & Tom Browne ch7 colleague barely 24 hours earlier felt he was a good thing for re-signing @ the pies. Wonder what they'll say in the next 24 hours?

Exactly.

No point getting emotionally invested in anything during trade time- it either changes by the hour or was never true to begin with.  It’s basically the bachelor.

Enjoy the drama and conjecture of it all!

Or just switch off completely until the end of it.

He'll be back soon enough espousing a must trade for a back pocket player.

@Demonland will have to get a restraining order out on the guy, wow.

Anyway...for Browne to say we’ve resigned ourselves to not getting Elliott it sounds to me like he’s spoken to someone at the club. Or maybe he’s just talking out his [censored]? Who knows, we’ll know soon enough I suppose.

Elliott's brother lives there and saw somewhere they are going on holidays together. Maybe just a visit to hear what the Lions are offering?

He’s heading off on a vacation today or tomorrow so it makes complete sense to go and see their facilities before he goes away.

You cannot be serious Charlie Spargo compared to Jamie Elliot??

Well Typical MFC Cannot lure real talent!! Just typical!

Charlie Spargo will be 10 x the player Jamie Elliot is, that is unless Elliot accepts our offer.

This will be the last big contract of his career- he would be negligent not to.

Maybe a nice Demonland group activity could be to go down to Goschs Paddock this summer and build a dunny together.

do we put this activity on hold now?

Absolutely. I’ve heard his hamstrings are done and when he’s in rehab he likes a beer. Bullet-dodged Neo from Matrix style.

When he toured our ‘facilities’ he brought his dog and it dropped a turd in the middle of the paddock, he knew then and there he wasn’t coming to us.

“As The Age reported on Saturday, the Demons launched their bid for Elliott weeks ago while Fagan met him recently. The Lions reportedly had used their injury-free run in 2019 as a selling point to the oft-hamstrung forward.

Umm ok. We got lucky with injuries this year, it's bound to happen next year too. ?

Don't both clubs share a car park? Would be bloody awkward for him if so. Maybe building another car park and wall to keep out the undesirables first on the agenda...

So has he made a choice yet or are we just wrist for nothing?

Whatever his choice we should be happy they fenced off the West gate bridge

Whatever, it IS TIME WE DODGED ANOTHER JIM TILBROOK-LIKE BULLET. REMEMBER?  KELVIN T, GEORGE LAKES, AND ALL THOSE OTHER SEMI MESSIAHS WHO TURNED INTO DUST AND BULLDUST BEFORE OUR EYES.

Also a reminder to the players and the so called leadership group.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
