Leoncelli_36 2,264 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Just saw a grab on Ch 7 News saying that the Melbourne Football Club players are stopping their supplements regimen after fears the supplements they are taking may have been contaminated. The full story to come on the late news. I see nothing about it on social media. It’s a watch this space story. The year we are having, anything is possible. 1 1 1 Quote
Ethan Tremblay 31,394 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Cross contaminated with something that made us fat and slow hopefully. 6 5 1 Quote
Left Foot Snap 2,611 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I think ours were contaminated with Mogodon or Valium. 5 Quote
Leoncelli_36 2,264 Posted July 31, 2019 Author Posted July 31, 2019 ITS on the back of Shayna Jack, the female swimmer. Presumably, we may have been using the same supplements that she was. 1 Quote

FireInTheBennelly 4,104 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 But seriously, the club need to identify who is talking to Tom Browne and escort them off the premises immediately. Personally I think it's Oscar McDonald. 6 5 Quote

She tested positive for Ligandrol, a company that manufactures supplements which are approved by the AFL are not going to add anything illegal, including LGD 4033, to their supplements. I dare say she’s provided a list of what she’s taken, and left off the LGD4033. Edited July 31, 2019 by Ethan Tremblay 1 Quote

Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 IF it was a banned substance and MFC players were taking it, it would be wiped off the list from now on. Quote

John Crow Batty 8,895 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) The club should ask for their money back. The supplements(snake oil) don’t work. Edited July 31, 2019 by america de cali 1 4 1 Quote
Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Its all starting to make sense now......Why McDonald was missing goals from 20m out.....why Angus looks lost and players were not taking shots from 25m.......and Pruessy manning the mark the wrong way......theyre on the good stuff! 3 1 Quote
Adzman 2,154 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I think the Dees will be fine here. Sad truth is if our whole team did happen to get rubbed out for a year for doping, we would only drop one ladder position. 2 11 Quote

beelzebub 23,392 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 This club is most definitely contaminated 3 Quote

Don’t bet on it Ethan, having sat in about 15 lectures from ASADA, cross contamination is one of the leading factor in positive drug tests in athletes. Every athlete (and coach) from about 14 years of age that has any involvement with Australian and state based teams must complete a host of education measures including completing an online module provided by ASADA. I myself have to complete this module yearly to remain qualified to coach on teams. In those modules it discusses the very topic consistently. Heres an interesting article on the Shayna Jack issue: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/athletics/athletes-should-not-trust-supplement-labels-says-ex-wada-boss-20190731-p52clv.html And a link to the topic on the ASADA website: https://www.asada.gov.au/substances/supplements-sport interestingly Swimming Australia is sponsored by a supplement company, so they must be considering their position right about now. 1 3 Quote

poita 3,947 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Is a supplement still a supplement if it makes you perform worse? Perhaps whatever we are taking should be called a decrement. 4 Quote

Fork 'em 7,063 Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Cause no Aussie athlete would take performance enhancing drugs on purpose. We're far too righteous for that. 1 2 Quote
