so based on Weideman being in the rehab group at training I assume he is no goer for this weekend.

Tim Smith to return for another round of musical deckchairs perhaps.

Being in Alice we do not have to put up with the 'Boo Stadium' crowd blaring thru our tv sets.

Their premiership backline vs our non-existent/inexperienced forward line is a scary proposition?

Lifted from the MFC website but you are correct and I have amended it.

Last time we played in Alice Springs we won by 91 points with Angus Brayshaw BOG with 37 touches and 3 goals.
ANB got the 3 brownlow votes with 3 goals and 23 touches.

I'm expecting much the same this weekend.

Good to see Oskar there!

Would like to see Baker, Smith, Dunkley and Lockhart on the bench.  Which would mean Hannan and ANB are out.

Club web article says the team will fly up on Saturday.  Isn't that a bit odd?

Doesn't leave much time for training on the ground and fulfilling our community obligations.

I don’t think they really care anymore either.

Yeah if he can't get a game with Hannan and ANB playing the way they are then he will not be playing in the red and blue next year unless Casey throw him a lifeline.

Dunn and Garland were at least AFL standard, JKH is simply not.

Does anyone actually think we will get close this weekend?

Not just due to club loyalty.... i mean does anyone genuinely think we have a chance?

This could easily be our worst loss for the year. These 2 teams are currently miles apart, even with West Coke off the boil.

It will be ghastly to watch imo.

But he is a mile ahead of ANB and Hannan on recent form. I agree, if he is not played this week especially, his papers have been stamped.

How many of our players are putting in "AFL standard" performances this year?

Selection has turned into a farce and I strongly believe it's creating (or has already created) cultural issues that we thought we had banished from our club. A player's parent was heard to describe the culture of the club as 'Goody's Boys' recently and this is a prime example of that. A bloke is in the best for a month straight yet can't get a game while a massively underperforming team continually picks underperforming players.

And if you want to argue something like 'he's not the future of the club' then tell me why Lewis is playing and tell me at what stage of the season it's ok to turn our culture off?

I think Goodwin has great potential as a coach, but there is a growing concern with his sheer stubbornness that even has his former mentor quietly fuming behind the scenes.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
