whately interviewed Hocking this morning,  soft as butter

I doubt the AFL truly cares SW.   As long as most of their favs are in the top 8 and the crowds/ratings are still rolling in.

Wasn't the score review originally mooted to be a goal line review only?  Then it somehow morphed in to a review of play outside the goal square to determine if the ball was touched.

The AFL failed to bed down the goal line stuff and is now struggling with the 'touched' aspect also.

Wow another score review fiasco.  They didnt show the ball as it went completely over the line, instead stopping and shuffling the replay as it hit the line only.

The AFL is a serious joke comp right now

Not really. Jokes should be humorous.

Just clicked on Port v ?.  Maggots absolutely zero feel for the game re deliberate OOB.  Paid a mis hit by Daniels then ignored a blatant one by Port in Doggies forward picket.

Serious rain and hail.

To be fair the serious rain makes it doubly hard to adjudicate Mono.

Absolutely loving the chaos of wet weather vs the usual insane burst running and "keeping off" efforts into space of the usual dry stuff.

Also interesting to see how different players handle the wet conditions.  Some get it and some don't.  Great 'Ant' (Caleb) weather although Jones has been doing well also in patches.

GAMBLING ADS.......

Did i miss something SW?

SWYL - actually quite hard to miss them.

All pervasive and encouraging what may well already be and certainly will become a big influence on results aka “the integrity of the game”.

Look what it has done to cricket: 20/20, 50/50 without any doubt and probably to the “pure form”, tests.

And as for these little spot fire bets such as first goal or most possessions - is there any doubt that these are not at least occasionally rigged?

I find these ads a total turn off: I have mentioned before that I often change channels or radio stations when they come on and often forget to switch back.

No Howe?

I presume he was internally sanctioned for  making Stephenson ‘self report’...

Hawks and Pies going down in flames on the same day, not to mention Port. Footy is not all that bad after all.

Ken Hinkley might have taken a bit of a hit for ‘Coach Of The Year’ I reckon.

It would be laughable if it wasn't such a serious problem for many people, when these ads bombard everybody with the joys of betting and the many ways you can bet on all kinds of scenarios, and then finish off with "please gamble responsibly". Kids don't even know what that means.

So Hawthorn has 80, 000 members but as soon as they start losing very few of them turn up. To be fair, the dogs they registered as members aren't allowed direct entry into the ground. Pass me the tissues.

That's a shame. The dogs would certainly be more loyal to their team.

Hawthorn supporters should show some intestinal fortitude and start acting like supporters. How many years have we been going to games with no expectations of even coming close to winning? We do it because we love our club. Hawthorn supporters are spoiled and should be ashamed of themselves.

A number of consolations for the Pie supporters, not that I should trying to comfort them, but… 1) Round 16 2017, Richmond totally embarrassed by the Saints, kicked up the backside all the way to a flag.

2) Despite losing nearly every other stat against the Roos last night, they win the free kick count 27 to 11! The umps have made it clear how much they love Collingwood this year, and no matter what happens, the Pies can always count on them. The umps took the Bulldogs to a flag in 2016, they’ll do the same for the Pies this year. (And if it wasn’t for that disgraceful display by the BHF and his mates in the Thursday night game, GWS would now be second, Collingwood third).

Very happy that WBD beat Pies and North beat Port.

Only prob is we are yet to play WBD and North.  No longer the 'easy' games they once seemed.

North has now won 3 of 4 since Shaw took over. We have 4 wins for the season.

North looked absolutely the worst team in the comp 10 weeks ago. If they finish above us this year it'll only add to the embarrassment.

Tigers took a big chance bringing 7 players back many of whom are underdone.  So far it has not worked.  Saints on fire and making it hard for powers to be to sack Richardson.

And, the tigers might end up 9th...how novel!

But will be happy to see tigers win - just to help keep essendon out of the finals!

Roos seem to be playing Dees of 2018 style footy.

Tons of pressure, hard at the man, contested footy with quick play on.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
