the first time we go long and direct we score a goal.

We consistently handball 1-2 times too many.

FMD . . . get rid of Viney please. Would we get a a late second rounder for him?

Hot garbage. Lucky they can’t kick and keeping us in it.

Headless chickens.

Not really. We're winning most contests. the problem is we spud it up across half forward and gift them 2-3 easy marks and entry.

Just wait until Cox turns it up.

Must be watching a different game to you because I’m not seeing us win most contests at all.

Agree on Cox though.

Another embarrassing goalless quarter coming up. Insane how we can go from highest scoring team to lowest scoring team over one offseason. Pathetic that the coaches haven’t sorted it out yet. Can’t win a game if you don’t score!

Don’t worry Goodwin has 4 more years to not fix anything.

You line up at the opening centre bounce with Jones on one wing and Spargo on the other. I just cannot fathom it.

More space in our forward line please.

Lever looking ok.

I think we will win 2nd qrt.

Fritz has really gone backwards.

Nice to see a bigger body than omac down back.

Whatever result, clear that May and Lever will make us a considerably better team.

by this time next year Goodwin wont be our coach. We are just biding time....wasting time!

The people critical of vineys leadership and bad disposal the same calling for Gawn to be captain he started  the chain of handball clangers with a 1 metre handball miss at the first clearance

In one quarter of footy we managed to display every type of skill error it is possible to execute on a footy field.

The backline would not want to be judged by the same standards as applied to Oscar McDonald.

Collingwood playing like last year's grand finalists.

Why is it allowed for Grundy to pull the back of Gawn’s jumper everytime at ball ups? Blatant holding. Same thing happened numerous times last game.

That last bit of play was unbearable.

You had Hannan streaming out of the square for a lead, a PADDOCK in front of him and Harmes decides to kick long to the goal square..

We wouldn’t beat Carlton or GC17 the way we are playing

No one can hit a target, midfielders don’t work defensively, we are slow on transition and look completely devoid of any skill whatsoever

Its last year’s QB all over again

Our backline are killing though.

Good to see them.

Now if we can fix our fwd line.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
