2 - Frost ( I no longer hold my breath when he has the ball)

1 - Viney ( trying to do the impossible too often but he at least he persists)

Please......all mids.

Agree with top 3.

no credit to the defenders? you may want to check the disposal efficiency of your 3,2, 1......or does that all of a sudden not come into contention?

6. Gawn

5.Brayshaw

4.Oliver

3. Harmes

2.Frost

1.Fritsch

6. Gawn - Clear win in the ruck battle, albeit against a fairly green opponent

5. Jones - won the ball on the inside, usual story on the outside and disposal-wise

4. Oliver - created some run through the corridor

3. Viney - brought some much-needed mongrel and tackling at times but also ambition confused with ability

2. Fritsch - developing in a new role for him and bringing some of last years form to it

1. Frost - growing in confidence to run-off his opponent and back himself

6 Gawn

5 Oliver

4 Brayshaw

3 Jones

2 Viney

1 Frost

Max is now third in the Age Player of the Year award with 54 votes, behind Grundy (68) and Tim Kelly (61). He doesn't get a look in at the Hun, but no surprise there. He's in the top 19 in the AFLCA award as of last week and should move further up after Saturday night. I think he's been excellent since round 4 and is a chance to poll a lot of Brownlow votes between round 4 and round 11.  He could have picked up votes in games against Sydney, Hawthorn, Gold Coast, West Coast, GWS and Adelaide. He's currently at $67 with Sportsbet but given the lack of competition from team mates this season I think he's not without a chance. His biggest test will be next week against Grundy but he usually plays well against him.  He's having another wonderful season despite the team performance.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
