Jake Lever - Suspected Ankle Injury

I used to love this dude as a kid. He was honestly the best mark but THE worst kick Ive seen at the club . Pull in a screamer and then regularly miss from close in direct in front.  Would put petracca to shame re how many misses hed conjure up from 20-30 metres. Funny in hindsight they still feel the golden years...even though we never even played finals. Hardeman, Wells, Alves, Biffen, Keenan, Bourke, Davis, Molloy, Tilbrook etc. The team is still clear in my mind.  Guess it was the age I was.

Yeah I remember him and also that of Spud Dullard who was a later version of him although not as good.

FCS you blokes. I keep coming to this thread hoping there is information on Lever and all I get is people wallowing in nostalgia.  Must be a thread for that somewhere else? Please.

Time for a cup of a tea , a bex and a good lay down SUE!!!

Being a MFC supporter, I don't think that will do the trick. Any anti-depressants on offer?

Yes no doubt better for you than a BEX sue. They were quite awful. Eventually taken off the market.

AS for depression I got over being depressed about the MFC decades back.

As my wife told me last night "situation normal Darling"

Sorry for the question if it has been answered before- but was he playing any good before he was injured?

Ha ha, the question nobody gets around to.

I think the answer you're looking for is 'will be better for the run'!

It is more relaxing and comforting in a weird way being back in situation normal.  I think I need therapy; probably too late for that.

Yeah Graeme, today's Herald-Sin also reports that Lever "is confident" he'll be ok for Adelaide game.

Surprised the Hun could spell 'confident'.

For the Adelaide game?  Surely hes not ready for AFL yet.

Given the year we've had i'd rather he didn't!

I hear being a Dees supporter is now a recognised indication for medicinal cannabis

Agreed, but some selection decisions this year have confused me - so WTF knows?

Yes he was SPC. His leaving the field coincided with Willy getting going.

If its match fitness we are worried about... yeah may need a full game at VFL level. If its injury or recurrence we are worried about... just as much chance at VFL level of that!

The Age would have spelt it with a K

Greg Parke. No. 26? I think. Knockout mark, knuckle man and lousey kick. Just the same, he got his goals. Nabbed almost everything for a slow runner. Tough as nails. Great Demon.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
