Well, what to make of it?

I thought we were done 10 minutes into that term and then... we just clicked a bit.  We tackled harder, won the clearances and, for the first time this season, took our chances!!

What it means is that we are well and truly in this contest.  If we keep up this hard work then we are every chance.

How we are only 4 points down is amazing. Some great inspiring goals by the Skips.

I forgot how incredibly annoying Bruce’s pronunciation of “Sahlum” is.

And "Fritts"

we should be at least five goals down; our accuracy keeping us close thus far this year

The whole commentary team have just been waiting for us to stuff up so they can say how loose and leaky we have been.

I don't think we have been playing great but neither have the Swans and they haven't been all all year so far.

Yes incredible at times it looked like blowing out.

They still seem to score the ‘easy’ goals. Where as we look like we work so much harder to score.

If we can start to win the clearances then hopefully the one armed monster can create a contest and give spargo melksham and co and crumbing chance.

Cmon Dees.

Key to that quarter was a willingness to taking the dangerous kick on. Apart from Fritz it was non existent in the first.

Got lucky with a few of those snaps in the pocket but that will generate confidence which we desperately need.

Jones being moved into the middle has been well overdue.

We were good in the second quarter last week too. Need to actually show up in the second half.

we are playing so damn poorly, very few players actually playing well and we are still in the game, thanks to their poor kicking for goal.

i just wish they would stop this zone defence and man up. When sydney runs and gets the overlap like every other team that has played us this year we are toast.

Lucky to still be in this game. Our skills are sub VFL standard. Luckily the Swans Are just as bad and haven’t converted.

The optimism i can take out of this is that our midfield can only get better. They started to show signs in the last 5 minutes. If it continues, we will win this game.

Are you agreeing with me now?

I never disagreed. I just hate it when supporters attack players in such a personal way. Even if it’s just a figure of speech I would never suggest shooting a player. None of them are out there trying to be bad.

Gee who would have thought Pruess and Jones would be our leading goalkickers

Our third terms have been our achilles heel all season.  You could argue, on the scoreboard anyway, that we've still been in the contest for our first three games at half time and fallen away badly after that.  We need to turn the tide this week and come our firing.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
