Wiseblood 24,637 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Well, what to make of it? I thought we were done 10 minutes into that term and then... we just clicked a bit. We tackled harder, won the clearances and, for the first time this season, took our chances!! What it means is that we are well and truly in this contest. If we keep up this hard work then we are every chance. 1
Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 How we are only 4 points down is amazing. Some great inspiring goals by the Skips. 2

Sir Why You Little 37,457 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Wow. We should be down by at least 8 goals. But we are right in it Big 20 minutes in the rooms How much do the boys want a win???

The whole commentary team have just been waiting for us to stuff up so they can say how loose and leaky we have been. I don't think we have been playing great but neither have the Swans and they haven't been all all year so far.

Gunna’s 2,107 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 They still seem to score the ‘easy’ goals. Where as we look like we work so much harder to score. If we can start to win the clearances then hopefully the one armed monster can create a contest and give spargo melksham and co and crumbing chance. Cmon Dees. 1 1

Apart from Fritz it was non existent in the first. Got lucky with a few of those snaps in the pocket but that will generate confidence which we desperately need. Jones being moved into the middle has been well overdue. We were good in the second quarter last week too. Need to actually show up in the second half. Edited April 11, 2019 by P-man 1
Deecisive 1,709 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 we are playing so damn poorly, very few players actually playing well and we are still in the game, thanks to their poor kicking for goal. i just wish they would stop this zone defence and man up. When sydney runs and gets the overlap like every other team that has played us this year we are toast.
chook fowler 19,772 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 If Jones is to play it must be up forward - useless elsewhere. Hibberd is gone. Hore showing something. Wagners will never be any good. OMac just horrible. 1
Moonshadow 17,678 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Thank god for Sydney's inaccuracy and my beer 2
Deesprate 1,324 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 That Kennedy throw was indicative of the umpiring 1 1
Beetle 4,739 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 (edited) Lucky to still be in this game. Our skills are sub VFL standard. Luckily the Swans Are just as bad and haven’t converted. The optimism i can take out of this is that our midfield can only get better. They started to show signs in the last 5 minutes. If it continues, we will win this game. Edited April 11, 2019 by Beetle
Mel Bourne 4,541 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Brayshaw has to present himself this next half.
FireInTheBennelly 4,104 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 @Satyriconhome Are you still with us mate, or off to rearrange your sock drawer?

I just hate it when supporters attack players in such a personal way. Even if it’s just a figure of speech I would never suggest shooting a player. None of them are out there trying to be bad. 2
Moonshadow 17,678 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Need Viney, Brayshaw and Oliver to have a HUGE quarter 2
Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Gee who would have thought Pruess and Jones would be our leading goalkickers
Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Our clearances and work around stoppages has been awful and needs to be fixed.
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Our third terms have been our achilles heel all season. You could argue, on the scoreboard anyway, that we've still been in the contest for our first three games at half time and fallen away badly after that. We need to turn the tide this week and come our firing. 1
