Well I'm sick of thinking about the Dees so let's talk other teams.

I just read that the bomber leadership group is Dyson Heppell and vice-captain Zach Merrett, David Myers, Orazio Fantasia and Joe Daniher.  WTF are they thinking? The only one there with any leadership is Heppell and he is not a natural leader imo.  Hurley should be skipper with Heppell and Hooker in the LG. still surely they can't lose to the saints who are imploding

Anyway, I reckon the Pies will get up tonight

Lions should beat North away - they have no injuries and are in good form (i'm tipping Lions to make the ?

Dogs may upset Hawks - could be an interesting year for the doggies

and the big one on Sunday arvo - Suns V Freo will break the reckon for interest level and lowest attendences.  even GWS will take the mickey out of that game. I wouldn't be surprised if the umpires and cameramen don't turn up!

Ferals over the filth

Cola over Cows

Peptides over Aints

Pear over Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarltank

Meth Coke over GW$

Bears over the future Tasmania

Poos & Wees over Footscray

Jokers over GC17

Big night for the Pies... are they the real deal.

Should be a great game... Is it a sellout?

West Coast and GWS is another game to watch closely.

Interesting to see how Toiges go without Rance and Houli.

I’m thinking Pies will win, just. Let’s see if Cox replicates his prelim heroics.

Really? Hurley always looks like he's punched a dozen cones before the game as a warm-up.

Hogan makes his debut for Freo and wish him well and hope he has a super game.

HW$NBN makes his debut for the Hawks but can't wish him well.  What a steel for the Hawks - 4th round pick, I think.

Sadly, news has come thru that Dunn has done his knee in the first half of the vfl practice game

Agree, he was a stalwart for the Dees and hated seeing him go to the filth. But somehow happy (for him) when he was announced in the leadership group. He is great footy warrior.

Hope the knee is not as bad as expected so I can boo him at the QB game....that's the Collibobbles GF game!

That is a shock inclusion. Daisy Thomas was never the same after a similar injury. Will be interesting to see how he comes up.

Would love to know the real story of that trade.

Collingwood will beat Richmond, as sure as God made little apples. Collingwood will pump the ball into their forward line so often, it'll be like the little boy with his finger in the dyke. It'll overwhelm them in the end. Collingwood have too many goal kickers and without that reprehensible toad, Rance,to defend, the Tigers have got no hope.

Logic says the pies should win because Cox dominated the prelim when Rance was there and he isn't there tonight so Cox should dominate even more. I think I want the tigs to win just so collingwood lose again.

Gee Id love to see the saints beat essendon. That would be great

RIchmonds first test without Rance, and its a big one.

Would love to see them fall apart completely and struggle all season.

Umpires have umpteen colours to choose from yet they wear yellow tops and black shorts at a Richmond home game - they look like Richmond players half the time....

Yep...

Wife getting lippy....??

The Pies controlling tempo and momentum of the game by accurate passing (must have a very high kicking efficiency in general tonight) and a lot of switching (keeping off) play around the back.  Also being VERY patient waiting for the right option to hit up around the back or on a shallow forward entry.  Alternatively they kick it low and flat to the hot spot (more so than bombing) if they have to under pressure in a play on situation.

They clearly have a game plan, most players know their roles and play accordingly and they are extremely fit and well drilled.  Barring injuries to key players they will make the GF IMHO.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
