If he plays like he did in the finals, then Jesse will be a distant memory.

Big futuregir Sam

Love his commitment skills awareness of Team responsibility and faith in the Club.

Big year for Sam 35/50 goals.

Like any Dees fan will never forget that Elim Final and the super performance from all and Sam's bog.

Breakout last few games in 2018.

Interesting. I was thinking of Steven May as Hogan's 'replacement', as he was the main part of the trade deal. I had expected the Weid to continue his improvement in the seniors regardless of who he played alongside.

Vs Geelong last year:

12 Kicks, 12 handballs, 7 marks, 3 goals, 4 tackles...

He's going to be a gun...

I'm really hoping for a forward line of TMac, Weid and Hunt next year.

Lol at some of the comments in the clip. Some never miss a chance to pay out on Ablett. I do like the one about looking for a cheapie over the top rather than providing a shepherd for Danger.

Scary to think what Weid may become.

Bub, don't you remember that bloke with the bad body language who used to play in the forward line.

No, not the blonde haired guy, the other one.

Fantastic moment in a huge game.  Well done Sam.

The surfy skulks away and the bald has-been tries but fails for a cheap shot.

A pivotal moment for the game, the team and the individual.  GO WEEDS (would never have thought, 50 years ago, that I would ever ever say that)

Ablett’s little hip and shoulder after the event. Very Useful....

Just prior to that he tried to get the easy ball then he tries and fails with a cheap shot.

It was a glorious night. Pity we didn’t score more goals. The boys sure worked hard enough

Love how the Weed goes about it.  no fanfare, no talk, just head down work hard. his agility and aggression improved last year.

still a lot to work on but the signs are good.

It sums up where Geelong are at, and what the inclusion on Ablett has done to their team.

There's two ways of looking at Ablett in that clip.  The first being that he was really in the perfect position for the "cheap" one over the top, but Danger was too slow to acknowledge it, and tried to do too much.  Had he (Danger) got the hands over to Ablett, he was in a world of space.  But, it was Danger's immediate response to do the individual thing that saw him get crunched.

That said, had Ablett put that shepherd on, Danger was also in a world of space (he would've blown Nibbler away).  Ablett's selfishness cost them as well.

While a lot of what happened on the night can be put down to us just dominating the Cats from the first second, that passage of play goes right to the core of what's wrong with Geelong in general.  It's bloody marvellous.

Back on topic, Sammy's just a nice boy who can play bloody good footy.  My love for him grows by the minute.

A great night indeed SWYL. A crowd of 90,000 with at least 60,000 Dees fans in attendance.

I honestly think there were more Dees than that. After the siren and after the song had been sung twice there were only about three small chunks taken out of the crowd.

Yes. We can be a big powerful Club again with sustainable Hard Work

to see the MCG full making so much noise that night was a beautiful thing and we should strive to be there every year

It is our home ?

No doubt we're starting to mobilise but we're a hell of along way off being a power club.
That game was 12yrs of pent up frustration released and we were all there to blow the roof of our own dung heap right off.

Yep. And a lot of them were not Members, but the opportunity is there, with hard work.

If 40,000 rolled up we would be in trouble, but that didn’t happen

I’m going to be very unpopular here and say i’m not convinced.

He is good at ground level but in the air I don’t see it.

Even in that final the marks he took fell to him and he didn’t take them cleanly.

i’m hoping it’s a strength thing and he proves me wrong with a greater upper body.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
