Received mine Xmas eve. Both Red & Blue and Demon Army cards.

The only thing I didn’t receive which was supposed to be in the pack was the 2x General Admission entry cards.

Strange delivery this year.

I got mine separately last week and my daughter got hers separately 2 days later. Still waiting on my wife and her twins packs?

We have country membership that used to come in one large package to the same address well before Christmas.

Why the change?

Received text message on 19/12 that packs were with AusPost. Still not received today 2/1, two weeks later.

I know about delays over the holiday period but on the same day that I received the text I ordered items from a Sydney store and received them via AusPost on 24/12. If they can do it, for them why can't AusPost deliver for MFC?

Haven’t even received the text message yet. ?

Mine arrived today.

My membership arrived today with for some reason 3 Scarfs

Mine arrived in Brisbane today. First year as a member so it's very exciting. I like the scarf and the Neville Jetta membership card. Go Dees!

Would anyone mind posting a pic of the new scarf? Anyone object? Good, please post.

Good to see a few cars kitted out in 2019 stickers around here, not many of us in the northern side of Melbourne.

My bad, hopefully it arrives soon. If it’s any consolation, the key ingredient was and is still missing from our packs. MD said we would get the cards before Xmas.

As they say DZ, Xmas comes every year.

Not much point getting the 2019 membership card next Xmas however. Strangely, I signed the missis up this year as well as my boy - both their packs arrived between Xmas and New Years, however mine hasn’t arrived yet. And we rolled over start of October.

The lack of communication from the club on this issue is disgraceful. I received a text on 19 December saying that my pack was on its way, and I still haven't received anything.

I have been a member for 35 years and have never had to wait this long for my card to arrive.

I note that the January instalment has not been deducted yet - that at least is sensible, as I would absolutely lose my [censored] if they took more money from me for nothing.

They have been off since Friday 21st till Monday 7th which might account for no reply. If you have been a member for the last 35 years then I am sure you have endured far worse than a delayed delivery. A good year is ahead stay calm.

Does anybody have an idea when the membership packs will be sent  out ? I seem to remember we had them pre Christmas in past years so they could be given as Christmas presents!

My wife received hers in the Adelaide mail 5 days ago, and mine arrived yesterday. Pretty basic this year with two scarves each (must have been an oversupply) but there are 2 guest passes in each pack for the home games, in addition to your normal entry entitlements. Flying over for Round 1 - going to be a 'beauty'.

Unless it was a Xmas present, what's the problem? As long as you get your card and pack before round 1. Given the logistics of tens of thousands of memberships, it would always be iffy to expect it before Xmas, regardless of promises, and especially after the boost in memberships after our prelim showing. Storm in a teacup.

You have my vote Mr Shadow.

Paid for 2 Trident memberships...received Membership packs but no cards.  Apparently they tried to get a lot out by xmas & it was a “bit of a stuff up”

It is understandably often a stuff up, but fairy nuff with our growing membership numbers; all can be ameliorated to individual satisfaction in a few weeks - with a phone call to the mbrship dept. Who'd want the pack before Xmas, anyway? The MFC do a great job as it is, and these membership folk are always striving for the best on our behalf - even those interstate , such as my family, receive top service when requested or often, attention to best access/seats/ticket readiness/travelling times, family and friends rendezvous, etc. At times, they make you feel like you are the only Member, such is the quality and attention that they provide, not one in 50000.

Got my MCC/MFC pack in NSW - when I returned on New Years Day. I didn't receive a text. No membership card.

Dee Zephyr - I'll take a photo of the scarf tonight and post it here. Very different to previous (red and blue interchanging v's) - 2019 MCC/MFC members will stand out.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?

After a disappointing loss in Alice Springs the Demons return to the MCG to take on the Magpies in the annual King's Birthday Big Freeze for MND game. Who comes in and who goes out?
