Probably the wrong time to ask as everyone’s emotionally charged and upset, but how many game do you all think we’ll win after our disastrous start?

I’ll get the ball rolling with 7 wins after a horrid 1-10 or 2-9 first half. The club does not resemble anything of last year and is missing some handy personnel.

Lever and May will hopefully fix our defence in July and August but it will be too late.

We are the Geelong of 2006 in 2019 - where a very young and talented list goes backwards after making finals the year before and after all pundits predict a premiership tilt. Results in serious club introspection about why things went wrong which then  results Geelong of 2007-2012.

Hoping it’s this - for 2020+ anyway

There will be calls for Alex Neal-Bullen to be dropped before Easter. The proletarian MFC selectors will finally succumb to the demands of the self-anointed Demonland High Council, but when they approach Alex to inform him of his demotion, ANB will just run away, and just keep running, from coast-to-coast, an unlikely protagonist in all the nation-forming events to occur in Australia for the next 30 or so years. Sadly, Alex’s fumbly hand-eye co-ordination will prevent him from ever rising up as a world-champion talent at terrestrial ping-pong. The MFC is like a box of snakes.

It's almost spooky in its prescience. Anyone seen [censored]-Bullet lately or is he off gallivanting around the country? Expect him to pop up somehow and influence the coming federal election - perhaps by teaching Bill how to properly drop the ball.

Early club-house leader.

we start the year unsure of what our best defensive set up looks like and we end up going with playing the 3 talls in May, Frost and Oscar. which makes our defence too big and slow, plus they all proceed to get in each others way and we leak goals, before Goody realises by about R3 or 4 that that's pretty much what happened to us last year.

and so he then drops Oscar and brings in the smaller, more mobile Marty Hore instead, who then manages to keep his spot in the team for the rest of the year, even when Lever returns, because by then its also become apparent that Lewis is struggling more than ever to keep up with the pace of the game and needs to be permanently replaced in the backline.

The crystal ball glows strong in this one, young Jedi...

Paying out early on this one.

Congrats DD, you are the 2019 champ.

I advise everyone else to not read back through the thread ?

Wait. I demand a recount!

I'm the only one on here who predicted a complete balls-up - which has an extra degree of credibility because I'm not Old Dee.

I also effectively nailed the 2019 fates of Spargo - will collapse into an on-field coma - and ANB - to be dropped before Easter - with five weeks still to go in which Clarry may well yet become - one of the first humans on Earth to be officially recognised as a victim of global warming - especially after his grievous UV assault in Alice last week.

I also came tantalisingly close with this in Round 15 vs. Brisbane:

As a senior leader of the club, and otherwise unavailable for the next 18 weeks due to an on-field incident which effectively ends Sam Frost’s career  . . .  misidentifying the protagonist as Lewis rather than May and falling just one king-hit short of complete prophetic dominance.

Definitely closest to the pin.

As an ex-title holder, I hope you channel your energy from this gross injustice into a concerted effort in 2020. Much like our shitty football team.

Unless we can find that killer instinct I’m afraid it will be more of the same.

Just look at the Hunger a team like Richmond has, going hammer and tongs for 4 quarters .

If we don’t have that desire to monster the opposition and win at all costs ,we will be just making up the numbers.

Yep. It’s all about attitude.

I could not believe in  2017 that the Club released that September Video for Nathan Jones before we had qualified for Finals.

That was just so wrong. We still have a lot to learn.

The Supporters get it. The Club  I am not sure....

I predict we finish in the Top 4.  Not sure exactly where in the Top 4, but it will happen.

I also predict that we'll have a mini slump during the season - now that we've made a Prelim, we'll be the hunted more than the hunters, and this might take a little to adjust to.  It might be a few losses in a row or something like that, but I think it will be the making of us next season.

Jake Lever will make a successful return from injury and slot into our backline alongside May superbly.

Weideman and McDonald to combine to kick more than 80 goals between them.

Oliver, Brayshaw, Harmes and Viney to combine with Gawn to be the most effective midfield in the competition.

Nev Jetta to finally be AA, where he belongs.

Absolutely covered myself in glory right here.

Only thing I got right was the slump, but it certainly wasn't mini.

It was St. Kilda players we asked “what are you doing this September”

2 years ago or 10 months ago. Not the issue. We don’t back up

Until we actually learn that, it will keep repeating

Simple really. But obviously hard

Bluey top 5 in my opinion

1. Max Gawn

2. Clayton Oliver

3. Christian Salem

4. Christian Petracca

5. James Harmes

goal kicker, i reckon in the last 4 Fritsch might be a chance to run down Track on current form. though 25-30 goals and averaging 20 touches per game is a strong return from Track

No way I’m going back page 1 to see how far off my predictions were. Shizen!

This seems much simpler.

17th.

B&F Winner - Gawn

2. Oliver

3. Harmes

4. Salem

5. Petracca

I think Trac holds on to Top Goalscorer just. Wouldn’t be surprised if Fritta gets very close, how funny would it be if a guy that spent 2 thirds of the season in the backline tops your goals scored.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
