Some good info here- http://sanfl.com.au/news/2018/09/16/nietschke-wins-u18-torrens-uni-mvp/

Seems to be a high possession getting halfback/winger.

Averaging an impressive 32 disposals per game in his eight U18 appearances this year, Nietschke is just the second Bulldog – since Brendan Dew in 2014 – to be voted MVP.

Nominated in Round 1 for racking up 39 disposals and 82 per cent efficiency, Nietschke also rose up the ranks to play five Reserves games and make three Macca’s League appearances under premiership mentor Roy Laird.

impressive stats

He should be good for some memorable quotes and philosophy.

Bet you he plays deep like his namesake

Two from SA ... interesting but not all that surprising given our coach and recruiting manager's connections.

You can't help but think Goodwin has a bit of influence on all these SA guys coming into the club.

Retention-wise, I'd say having an SA legend as senior coach, would help, as will playing in finals consistently.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
