KK has the potential to be an elite player, reads the play well, can intercept and run the lines, Much prefer KK off halfback to Lewis  or on the wing instead of Jones or Tyson.

Concussion history a worry and should reduce Suns asking price. Reports are Docs identified his concussion susceptibilty as being neck related and that neck issue has been corrected . Still a risk for mine but high reward if he becomes a regular.

If he comes to Melbourne let's hope he's not just another high draft pick that doesn't quite make it despite changing clubs. Jono O'Rourke, Gysberts, Toumpas, etc

Watt?

2nd in a club b&f shows he can consistently perform at a high level.

Other failed players being mentioned on this thread were never able to do that.

B and F finishes in a low performing club need to be taken into account

kade is clearly flawed if he can't get a game at gc and they want to move him on

Battled multiple concussion issues which are now over.

Very good disposal and as much as I hate comparing players was similar to Grant Burchall.

Very good pick up

Speculation for players that have unrealised potential: Frost, Balic, McKenna, Kennedy, KK

I put KK in same category as Ports acquisition of Mr Watts last year... a bet against exposed form based on pedigree (draft pick, “talent”, etc)... and Jack was getting games in a middle of the road team, whereas Kk struggling in a cellar dweller...

I wouldn't put KK in either of these categories.

He's a much better player than all listed.

He has played quality footy but injury has been an issue, in the first list none of those had proven form apart from the odd game for a couple of them.

He's certainly nothing like Watts and that acquisition. Jack got nowhere near top 2 in our b&f good or bad years.

The bet with KK is nothing to do with form and more to do with getting him injury free and confident in his body.

Unrealised potential.

Yep, I think we're on the same track. I just wouldn't put him with the others on the list.

I think he has some good exposed form, the others really didn't. They were more spec picks...

The spec here is whether he can get over the previous injuries.

I'm excited about him as a prospect, I was trying to think who we could bring in without going down the big fish path.

There had to be someone out there that would be a perfect fit for us and I think the FD uncovered him.

Sounds like GC will delist him if they can't get a deal done, so I imagine it'll be for a 3rd rounder at most, maybe a future 3rd/4th if he's not an add on to the May deal. I'm hoping he's done separately, right at the start of the week, as the Hogan/Freo/May circus could drag on a bit.

Sounds odd that you’d delist such a skilful and talented player. Especially when that’s exactly what your club is lacking in.

I look at Kade and immediately think of Gus...Theyre different...but similar  ;)

Very highly rated junior

5th in the rising star in year 1

2nd bnf in year 2.

Certainly better than his bro. He would excel in a good team imo

Underwhelmed by this guy given his track record.

Unrealized potential is an unconvincing reason to buy him.

I think he has the upside of someone like Yeo...

A pretty convincing reason to buy.

get Kades fitness and injury issues sorted....he'd be the bargain of trade week

Hope your right rjay so I will bow to your greater knowledge.

Apropos of another post of mine, I should heed my own words and have confidence in our selection and selectors.

It's amusing.  Most posters familiar with Kolodjashnij rate him and those who have to ask others or look up stats don't.

If you have no clue about a player why proffer an opinion ?

I don't know why it is amusing, unless you think your cleverer than the next person.

Like looking at someone's CV, you can form an impression or an opinion based on a person's track record.

In the KK case, his injury history, lack of games, and GC's willingness to trade provides an uninspiring track record.

The other reasoning relates to his untapped potential, which is always debatable.

In the past, we have had a litany of names with potential on our list. And we all have opinions on those names.

Yeah yeah.

I'll back my eyes.

GCS departures:

Lynch, Hall, Kolodjashnij, Barlow, *May, Rischitelli (ret),  etc..

Who in their right mind would want to go to play for this club? Their supporters must be so disillusioned - although, I can empathise.

Off your high horse Pro, if his coaches want to trade him for a third round pick then they don’t rate him, despite your superior wisdom.

If we pick him up our coaches are backing themselves to get value where Dees crew have failed or given up.

Dewy will probably go for the Roosy-Swans type players, contested contested contested. types.  Hard workers under heavy attention.

I don't know much about sPecial-K,  other than he was as a junior, Highly touted as a skilled ball user.

But I have no perception of his contact play?

I’ve got no idea about him but given you think he would be “one of the most talented on our list” and could be a “revelation” what do you think would be a fair pick for him?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
