This guy is a genuine talent.  Tall, silky, left footer.

Half-back or even use his aerobic ability to run the wings.

He could be just what we need.  A genuine talent and natural footballer.

2. Speed. He's not slow, but he's not quick either, as the game gets faster you can't carry many defenders who are above average speed
development has been wrong.

You seem to think pace is an issue with everyone.

Earlier in the year, AFL Tasmania high performance manager Matthew Armstrong spoke to Bound For Glory News and gave a glowing review to the best rebounding defender in the draft, Kade Kolodjashnij. He described him as an extremely hard worker mentioning he was “quick, shows leadership and has a great work ethic”.

Bruce was calling Salem "SARLEM" in the finals.

I believe its actually pronounced Sah-lemm.

Just to put a fullstop on Kolodjashnij's speed.  This from Quigley in his draft year:

He has really nice pace, is a great jump and he judges his closing speed really well. He works hard and is a big kick so is dangerous anywhere out to 55.

Athletically Kolodjashnij is a stand out and he was one of the stars of the Combine. He killed the jumps finishing first in the standing vertical and right foot jump and was in the top 20% of his non-preferred left foot. He went under 3 seconds in the 20m and was just outside the top 10% in the 3km. He managed to go over 14 in the beep and his agility and repeat sprint were in the top half. Overall he is one of the most impressive athletes in this draft and when you combine that with the fact that he is actually a very good footballer he is an attractive package for teams in an age of "running height".

He might have really nice pace...but is he quick ??

Sounding like we are trying to tie him in the with the May deal and if we are forced to give away a high pick for May, we are trying to add real value to the deal.

Would be very happy to get KK, as he has always looked a very good player to me.

No he is not quick he is just fast with great speed.?

All that is true why are GCS happy to let him go?

They need as much experience/talent as they can get.  If they aren't offering him a contract he will be delisted and he can anywhere he likes with no pick back of any sort.

It doesn't compute...

Must admit I was thinking the same as LH but Redleg's comments makes sense.

Here's an extract from the AFL site:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-13/boost-for-kolodjashnij-in-concussion-struggle

After the above article from June he has played 4 games so he's not been a "required player" in a struggling side. Was he injured again?

A step up on Balic but has a similar feel. As others have mentioned a possible Lewis replacement. Would be great to see a fairy tale ending

1.00 mark. Doesn't look slow to me

Fix link

Anyone who equates Kolodjashnij to Balic simply has no clue about the player in question.

I think he’s simply not the type they need, or he doesn’t fit the list profile. Dew would want to build the list in his own image, and maybe his talents are not what he values.

They also need bulk list turnover to effect a cultural-shift, and are light on assets to do that.

His pace is good.

It's @DeeSpencers one wood to question someone's pace when he really doesn't have a great handle on their pros and cons.

Can play...he was really good early in his career.

Half back or wing with a bit of class.

Forget about the Kelly's of this world, this is exactly the type of trading we need to do.

From the ashes rise the Phoenix - you could be correct.

It’s easy to see from highlights why he’d be a great fit for us. Consistency may be an issue. Ideal player to push Lewis out of the side, footy smarts pending.

Gotta admit, I liked the look of him as a draftee, but have seen precious little of him at the suns.

He has a pace that can be maintained over distances required for an outside mid. He does not have great bursts of speed but his hand-off is quick and good.  He also is relatively sure of foot. He can turn and weave a little, that is unlikely for slightly taller bloke in that OM role. What I really like is his ball-gathering and clean hands, combined with his good pace (not lightning fast) running with his head (and thus, eyes) up - looking for the best receiver. And, he hits that receiver from up to 50 metres. A value player if ever you saw one.

Reminds me alot of Grant Burchell..

Tall, slick and ability to provide run and carry off half back.

He is quicker than Birchall and unlike Birchall who often goes the short pass, KK seems able to gain ground and then pass over a decent distance and accurately.

Would be a very good pick up for us if we can get him.

I think he would definitely be a good get, particularly if we're losing guys like Kent and Vandenberg.

There’s also a Kolodjashnij at Geelong. Which is the better player?

My guess would be the one that's not being helped out the door :)

they had the richmond doctor check him over?

Kade was pick 5 and Jake pick 41.  Kade has the most upside and already has a second finish in a B&F.

A quick 190cm silky long-kicking left footer.  He'd be a great get.

I also see a bit of Isaac Smith in him uf used on a wing

IIt looks like Kade and Jake are fraternal twins not identical twins? Anyone confirm?
