It would be a bit of a marketing fail to open a brothel in the area wouldn't it.  ...or conversely is that how the area got it's name originally.

Along similar lines, there is the locally based business 'Cockburn Cement' - an early version of viagra for when you've had a big night on the nest, but just need to keep powering on! ...perhaps?

Conversely, The Daily Planet (an award winning brothel in Elsternwick Victoria) is located in Horne St.

I know of the daily plannet, but not as far as knowing what street it is on!

A mate of mine did use to live in a street in the Croydon area which is "The Nook" - there is a brothel on that street too.

I was looking after a mates car while he was in Europe for 6 months and after about 8 weeks it broke down right outside The Planet. I just left it there till my friend came back. It was a very recognizable car and when he returned from OS  a lot of people who didn't know he had  gone, questioned him about how much time he was spending at the Planet. He wasn't very happy.

Do they still have a bar over in Perth called The Bog?

I believe so.

Used to frequent there back in the late 90’s. Got kicked out of the aptly named place just as much too.

Gee, to my amazement I have found very many unsavoury type characters on Demonland. This is the kind of  site my mum told me not to visit.

You should always listen to your mum, didi, it's not too late  ?

My mum never understood that it's not a binary world, DC, hence her advice. Anyway, it's the duty of everyone to forge their own way in the world, in other words, not to listen to their mothers. I met a bloke on Friday, for example, who said his deal old mum told him to never trust a Chinaman. Just for example...

Early 20’s and cashed up doing FIFO. Probably 80% of their clientele.

It certainly is a binary world:  Demon supporters, and 'others'!

I have no idea what your first paragraph is about but entirely agree with the second.

Not sure her advice was too far off the mark.

The Bog is long gone McQueen would be closed around 15 years. The redevelopment of Northbridge with apartments and new late night bars killed it off. Just sits there on Newcastle St vacant now.

Jesse Watch

“Although we did target him hard for at least 5 years...”

On the subject of Jesse Watch, from the bigfooty Freo pre-season training thread...

On the sidelines, boom recruit Hogan continued individual skills, running and repeat-effort work in his comeback from a navicular stress fracture.

"Jesse's going good. He's started being drip-fed into drills in the last couple of days and he will look to be in full training in the coming weeks," Fyfe said.

(Later reports have him on track for round 1.)

The freehold land on which the Daily Planet is located was sold last year. I have a feeling that the award winning brothel is soon going to go the way of the Gatwick.

No. I am actually serious. There was a huge Roman Bath in there that lasted until around the mid 90’s.

I went there a few times after a night shift.

It was brilliant!!

Can someone do the Abe Simpson walk in walk out gif for me?

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
