Puzzle pieces falling into place. Let's hope there are still nice biscuits left in the jar for us. See what I did there. I'll get my coat.

Oh christ. Better hope the mods don't see that.

Haha true! In all of this, we've forgotten that at the end of today, some, hopefully, good people will be Dockers.

Let's spare a thought for them...

Mike Sheehan Said he would be satisfied with Hogan out,  May In straight swap. Tell me anyone who would no more about the ins n out's of this club.

If we get KK and a pick in the 20s on top we've done more than OK in my book

Something Jesse will not be experiencing.

I just figured it out - Jessie Hogan is allergic to finals. That's why he is pretending his foot is injured and that's why he wanted an 8-year contract with Fremantle. It all makes sense now.

We'll get pick 6 and the trade that for both May and KK.

Just a gut feeling.

Save it for the AFL broadcast tonight.

Everyone is refusing to get their [censored] sorted until then.

Once the Neale deal goes through, Freo will have picks 6, 11, 19, 23 and 30 and still have to get Hogan and Lobb.

Now is precisely the time to call Freo's bluff and demand picks 6 and 11 and a swap of our pick 36 with their pick 23 or keep Hogan. There is no way Fremantle will want to lose Neale and miss out on Hogan. If we hold firm, they will buckle.

8 years at Freo guarantees no finals for the rest of his career.

I think GC will give a pick too and we will throw in a next year pick for them

Channel 7 reporting that negotiations are suspended until Demonland thread hits 400.

Still not happy that Hogan is 23 and being traded...

I know all the permutations, but it is still wrong

Josh Kennedy left Carlscum...

the Weid better be committed to a long term career...

We don't seem to play that way.

I agree. Losing Neale and only getting Lobb would cause a rebellion. They need hogan now . Pick 5, 19 and cerra

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
