They probably get paid by the hour.

I believe that the trades have been agreed to but the AFL does not want the public to know because they want the info to be announced on the TV 'spectacular'.

Must have some sort of deal with Fox to make the broadcast a blockbuster.

This makes me sick ifย  true.

So out Hogan Kent Tyson

In: May, KK, Preuss, 23, 62, 65

How many list spots does that leave us with? How many draft picks will we need to take?

If the believed trade eventuates...

Still leaves 8 spots by my calculations?

Out: Hogan, Kent, Tyson, Vince, Pederson, Johnston, Bugg, King, Filipovic, Balic, McKenna.

In: May, Kolodjashnij, Preuss.

KK is pick 50 plus so please don't include him in the trade talk.

Like Kent he's a simple peripheral trade

Might make some feel better but it's not a factor

HOW TOMORROW WILL PLAY OUT:

Brisbane trade Beams, Pick 32 & 55 to Collingwood for Pick 18 & Future 1st Rd Pick.

Brisbane trade Pick 5 & 18 to Melbourne.

Melbourne trade Hogan & Pick 36 to Fremantle.

Fremantle trade Neale & Pick 30 to Brisbaneย

Melbourne trade Pick 5 & Future 3rd Rd Pick to Gold Coast for May & KK

This means Bellend can trade Pick 11 & 23 to GWS for Lobb & Pick 14.

West Coast trade Picks 20 & 22 to GWS for Picks 11 & 47

West Coast trade Pick 11 to Geelong for Kelly.

Bombers trade Pick 9 & Future 2nd Rd Pick to GWS for Shiel & Future 4th Rd Pick ($cully trade).

Am I missing anything/anyone???

Just the way Jason Taylor likes it.ย

I expect we probably are having a look at a few Delisted Free Agents if we need 8 players.

ย

Purely for depth purposes only, I wouldn't be adverse to having some players like Sam Gibson, Tom Bell, Jackson Merrett, Cory Gregson, Nathan Freeman. Guys that can come in and play a role if we are struck bad by injuries.

if we get 5 and 23 for Hogan, fair deal IMO, better that 10&13, which are two first round picks

If I recall we offered our first and a second, but then changed to two firsts.

for hogan, I really donโ€™t see how we canโ€™t command pick 5 plus next years first. We should be getting the best deal instead of whatever we can get just to get another deal done. It seems .. wrong.

Whilst all this is happening the hawks have secured our former number 1, along with Wingard ... add another early pickย in Omera & Mitchel .. ย a team thatโ€™s won 3 flags & finished top 4 this yearย

Kolodjashnij is a good player who isย young, played good footyย and already played 78 games. While a deal wouldn't be difficult to do, he's more than steak knives.ย

Effectively the proposed deal would be, for us, Hogan for May, 23 and whatever pick KK is worth (probably a late second rounder, IMO).ย

Read the Naill article.

It's about 8 teams involved and no team wants to be the first to accept a deal when there's so many moving parts.ย

The only currency teams have are draft picks (includingย restricted future picks), players and occasionally paying a percentage ofย contracts for other teams. A huge business deal would rarely feature so many independent and competing companies and they'd be able to offer different forms of compensation as well as bonuses, penalties etc.

At the moment it looks like Brisbane won't move until they're happy with the Beams deal. Freo won't move until they've got the Neale deal sorted, after which they deal with Port so that they canย work out dealsย with GWS and Melbourne. Port are involved with Gold Coast, Hawthorn and Freo and then Melbourne can deal with GC. The bones of the deals might be lined up but then Port might feel they are being slightly undervalued so might ask Freo for a little more, who then might get that little more from Gold coast who then might pass it on to us.

Suddenly a team asks for pick 25 instead of pick 20 and then all of a sudden that pick 20 which was going to be used in the next 3 deals doesn't exist any more and it's back to the drawing board.ย ย

come on... he's a fourth rounder

have a look at the Scully deal if you want a baseline

Iโ€™m hoping weโ€™re pushing for one more pick from Freo. I donโ€™t know if they have it available but I would be asking for next years second rounder as well.ย

Scully's ankle is [censored]ย and Wingard is a downhill skier.ย

Plus they are losing Burton who is a very promising young gun. Had a poor season this year but was a gun in 2017.

What, an injured player who is a massive risk with a giant contract that his previous team is happy to shift?ย

Apples and oranges.

KK is young, talented and is entering the productive part of his AFL career.ย

hate them yes as mental scares from 87 prelim & 88 gfย

Itโ€™s [censored] how Hawks donโ€™t need to take first round draft picks. And when they do they just trade them out (Burton).

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
