Hahahaha freo.

Entertaining.

Wonder how Jesse feels now. Freo aren't even keen on him

Well they certainly don’t rate him highly.

Ig will really encourage all teams to stay well clear from ever negotiating with Freo ..... that combined with Lyon’s pathetic negative coaching will see them in the doldrums for years.

Looks like Freo think Rory Lobb from GWS is the magical answer to their forward line I guess? ?

Personally, I'm glad Jesse Hogan will be staying as Freo don't want him.

I hope Jesse Hogan  knows that we all want him to stay and win a Premiership with the Demons.

Fremantle supporters are delusional, they think they’ll get him for nothing next season. Not a FA until end of 2020 which is perfect timing for the Eagles to enter the race.

Wait, he's not a free agent next year?

Freo giving up pick 6 for 11, 23 and 30 from Port looks completely pointless now. Amateurs.

Hahaha gold. So they lost pick 6 and Hogan.

Geniuses.

Get ready for backline duties Hogan.

We all know you're not interested in staying at this club, so while you're forced to be here, do us a favour, serve a purpose, get us a flag, then go to West Coast.

Also, they (Freo) have failed to grasp the concept that attracting good players to your football club has a snowball effect. Other good players will follow.

No wonder they are bottom four material. Nat Fyfe and other senior players must be watching this used car salesman buffoonery from Peter Bell feeling absolutely filthy.

That is NOT how you rise up the ladder.

Well....I didn't see that coming !!

I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of Freo's motivation. Cutting their nose to spite their face in order to "teach us a lesson".

I think they think we want May so badly that we will cave and accept unders. I would be shocked if it happened. What we asked in my opinion was fair and freo have just shown the whole industry, they demand overs for their own players and lowball the players they want to bring in, even if they’ve offered the same players a boat load of cash.

I’d be shocked if Jesse wasn’t amazingly disappointed by this and I can’t imagine any way he considers a move to the dockers in the future now.

This decision by Freo will put them at the back of the queue when they attempt to lure any quality player in the future. Their strategy for years now has been to bring home grown talent back to WA and this farcical outcome has severely damaged that strategy.

I'm pleased we still have Jesse but concerned we appear to miss out on May.

Hope the club comes out very quickly with a statement to the effect - "our first preference was always to keep Jesse, he's a quality young man but he's been through so much in his life that if wanted to go back to be closer to family it was something we fully understood. That's why we entertained this in the first place, unfortunately while Freo through buckets of money at him they were unreasonable to deal with and we're keeping him and will be working on a long term deal".

I hope so as well. Hope Jesse is alright? At the end of the day he is still only a kid and has been through hell the last couple of years. And he must of thought he was going home and now this has happened. So i hope we get behind him?

288 pages later, nothing happened.  Could have been written by Samuel Beckett. Who would want to go to Freo and sing that song anyway? Happy to have him stay.

Purple just said Melbourne would have accepted 5 & 23, Freo refused

We told Fremantle we would have accepted 5 & 23 and they wouldn’t do it!!!! Amazing....

Grear news for us.

Simon Goodwin will put an arm around Jesse and welcome him back with open arms

Josh Mahoney should be applauded for standing his ground and being a professional operator compared to those amateurs.

Nowhelp us win a flag jesse!

Peter "Jive Turkey" Bell.  I stand by my previous comment.  Lets get creative to still bring in May.  I hope Hogan kicks 10 on them next year.

Exactly. Player managers like their players to get to the clubs they want to go to. Watch WCE get Kelly in with a minimum of fuss

From the sounds of it, we've treated him very well throughout and I'm sure that'll only increase from hear. He's overseas at the moment, so I'm hoping there's either teammates with him or we're on the phone everyday.

Give me a break.

He knew what he was doing. Requesting a trade or putting yourself out there, is always a risk.

He wants to go home and he wants the buckets of money Freo are offering him. It hasn't worked out. Next time, pick a better club Jesse.

Lose Neale and bring in Hogan and Lobb whilst retaining some handy picks, quite possibly pick 11.

I shouldn’t care so much but the situation is just so ridiculous.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
