I am so nervous about this arvo. Hopefully the players aren't as soft as me hahaha.

Either way we made to a prelim. Win or lose this is a giant step.

A big thank you to Neil Daniher and J Stynes. Their work will be a lasting legacy to the club and whatever happens, happens but let’s go out there and give them hell!

Richmond supporters were conditioned all year to believing it was back to back but last night killed that dream.

We're nearly there and it's all about grabbing the chance.

As the song goes..... "We may never pass this way again" ....... (or at the very least for a fair while).

If given the choice, would you rather lose today or next week?

Are you trying to create a mass heart attack

Good to have a heap of Melbourne dees supporters in the west. Adds some class!

The sun is over the yardarm at The Manor, so I've just snapped my first cap. I will be well in the moment when the ball is bounced.

you have a low yardarm

I've got a good feeling about this, go Dees!

at the start of the season we would have taken a 10-12 win season as a big improvement, now look where we are,WOW

Make no mistake, the pass mark for the year was to make finals. We have blown expectation out of the water and riding this wave has been the best couple of weeks of football I can remember.

West Coast is expected to win, the pressure is on them at home, if we bring the manic pressure and chaos at ground level and negate their uncontested marking game we are every chance.

It was this mob that ultimately knocked us out of the 8 last year.

Time for some sweet revenge.

clayton said we got this....clayton knows best :)

Clarrie is a man who retains his words; he does not mouth off - a keen observer happy out of the immediacy of the verbal limelight, most of the time. He knows something and keeps it to himself. His words come out as actions of the field, and in communications with his teammates onfield, between bursts. If Clarrie says: '...we got this...', we had better believe it.

Random thought, from a mate: 'OMac has been practising goal kicking at some depth and has done very well at it. Possibly, TMac to CHB, OMac to FFwd. Whadya reckon?'

He certainly warmed up with the forwards pre-game last Friday, including a stack of set shots

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for us to win today, and I think we will, but win or lose - this is a new team, with a new mentality. There is no fear anymore. This is a brotherhood where the boys back one another, and give no quarter. And it was born this year, probably out west in R22.

And now we get to go back. It's pretty fitting. But still, there is a huge new era ahead, a win today, and a flag (!!!) would really just be icing on the cake.

Go Dees! ??

We just ran into Razor and his buddies. Told Nicholls to keep walking, we only wanted a photo with Razor. Believe it or not, he said our boys have got this. No idea what this means.

Could not agree more!

About to get in car to head to Optus.

Problem is with Collingwood, even if we win, the media will be all over them. It will be the grand final Collingwood lost.

Look at 2002. Hardly any photos of Brisbane’s victory. Just pages and pages of Malthouse and Buckley in tears.

I know what you're saying, but I could live with at least a few pages of Malthouse, McChins and FIGJAM crying their little eyes out.

Me at the start of the year: If we make the finals and win one it will be an A+ year.

Me prior to Hawks final: Everything’s a bonus now, win and it will be an A+++ year.

Me now: If we don’t win today and then beat Coll next week I will neck myself!!!

This is bang on! You nailed the evolution of my thought process over the last month. ?

Are you serious?

Maybe we have 23 players today!

Honestly I feel sick just waiting for the game to start. It's a combination of excitement, nerves and probably that huge burger I ate last night.

I just can't wait for the first bounce.

Great memories of last minute of the 88 Final, last time we beat the Eagles. Hopefully today we can improve that score.

The terror you inspire and the pride of your heart have deceived you, you who live in the cleft of the rocks, who occupy the heights of the hill.Though you build your nests high as the eagle's, from there I will bring you down.

and so ends today's lesson...

Give them hell Demons!!!

So nervous I had a longneck of Carlton in my hand by 11. Honestly if we don’t get up today I will be so proud of the boys and salivate at the thought of chucking hogan and lever back in the mix next year.

having said that, there’s no guarantees we’ll ever be in a better spot to pinch a flag. There’s never any guarantees, look at Richmond.

will be watching from my local pub in Bungendore with guernsey on and barracking like I’m at Optus. Go dee’s!!!

We've put ourselves here which is great

Now we must go and get it and take it from the start - just like the Pies last night, and us versus Geelong. The boys have to bring it from the get go!

C'mon Demons!

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
