go to Subiaco after the game and before I take a mass [censored] on Gate 10, i'll smash 1 avocado for 1994, 2 eggs for 2006 and take 3 [censored] because I hate that fn ground (and the WACA) which brought us no joy over those god forsaken years

I'm fairly certain there will be tears.

Then I'll buy the first attractive single woman I see a very expensive drink.

In true bogan style a few more VBs.

Rain on everyones parade by reminding them that we lost this year to the team who we meet in the grannie. Also add that you are in for a sad day watching us inevitably lose a GF.

I’ll be crying uncontrollably then slowing down a little then re starting.

hang sh#t to all the people who stirred me for the last 18 years.  I guess I'll also have to change my name on here to "Back to Back" - I think I 'm ahead of myself.

Out of interest, roughly how many new people have signed up to DL since our win vs Hawks, seems to be a few.

Come on people, you would go nuts! We are against the odds here ... WCE are primed to beat us, if we happen to win it will be MASSIVE. More then massive infact.

We would be into a f'ing GRAND FINAL! After the last 18 years how sweet this victory would be.

If we beat the Eagles in the Prelim I will..... ?

I saw a few couples whilst at work today (Freo supporters)  who originate from WA. They absolutely detest WCE and told me that they are right behind the Demons and will be cheering them on. They also assured me that their many relative back home in WA will be doing the same. I did not realise the hatred that exists.

You might be up for a few $$$

Probably the game Ethan. Drunken post game sex can be deflating.

I will be that happy and excited that I’ll promise my wife I’ll quit smoking, give up drinking and buy her some jewellery and then deliver on none of those promises, then immediately start negotiations with her about taking money out of our savings to fly to Melbourne for the grand final..

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.
