Don't mind that result. GWS would have been smashed by Richmond. I can at least see Collingwood hitting as hard as they get.

I know the Pies will get obliterated by Richmond but the mere thought that Collingwood could make the Grand Final makes me physically ill.

Oh God - this is torture sitting amongst these smug Pie supporters.

They are not that good.

Softest finals run in history...

I’m disappointed in this GWS side. We’ve sunk so much money and draft picks into this crap and it would be nice to see this bucketload of talent work together and pull this off but no, they will just fall away and be a trophy less bucket of underachievers.

I’m with you mate. So much taxpayer money and resources have gone into this hellhole in a hand basket. I’m sick and tired of seeing these bootwinkles flash their brilliance during the season and not get it done in a big game like this. This club is bull [censored] and I think a lot of people would like their money back.

Tigers will be kicking their lips.

Watch the feathers fly next Friday....

Giants... rubbish as they are were unlucky with Razor out there.

GWS a colossal waste of time, money and resources.

Imagine how much fun it would have been tonight cheering for a Tasmanian team to beat the Filth.

The thought of Richmond winning another flag does the same to me.

It's great being part of the conversation too ... we now get to size things up.

The good news is that we should be able to get into this position again moving forward ... add 3 more top players (plus Hoges & Lever) in the off-season and they won't be able to stop us.

There is a lot of merit in that comment.

Even more if you add in the northern suns

Must admit.., the science experiment is failing.

What hope the northern suns.

Mind you the Fitzroy bears worked for a while

I dunno, the Fitzroy Bears aren’t too bad. I reckon they are a fair chance for the pennant next year.

I hope the tigers smash the daylights out of the filth.

God it's going to be feral in that ground next friday.

I have to walk amongst them as I walk over to AAMI park to watch the storm play there prelim final.

So so is it now three or four years in a row that GW$ aka Great Waste of Space choked in a prelim?  Their supporter must be tough or stupid.

Pendles looked very sore in the last.

All one can hope for is the 2 of them belt each other physically and we can get over eagles

Watching this game was as palatable as watching  a porn film starring Donald Trump and Serena Williams.

The thought of Collingwood being in a preliminary final is sickening, but to be fair a Richmond-Collingwood prelim is mouthwatering.

Such a disgrace. They should be serious, and go to bed straight away.

This is an appalling last quarter by GW$, no heart and no will to win the game.

Oh well, enjoy your 6 day break Pies.

I am sure that the Visy environmental ambassador will give them a dressing down.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
