Waiting, waiting, waiting...

I have the day off today Ā (well sort of) and just sitting on the back deck on a gorgeousĀ Brisbane spring day, thinking how foreign it feels to still be playing finals footy this time of year.

If we can pull it off and go all the way this year, it would be one of the best wins in the heat of the fugazi ever. Ā The media and opposition fans are all over us like a rash at the moment. Ā It's nice, but I'dĀ

No idea, but I strolled in at 7pm last week.

Walked virtually straight in Gate 3 last week at 5.50pm.Ā  Was very easy.

Yeah, I didn't get there until about 7.15 last week and went through gate 4 in less than 5 minutes.

... I know how long because I had been nagging my wife to get there early as it would take us at least half an hour to get through the gate. She timed it while we were waiting and then reminded me how pointless my nagging had been roughly every half hour for the rest of the night.

Without a bag it was very quick about 7pmĀ vs Cats

Yeah the slightly sick feeling has just kicked in and the concentration is out the window.

Have been pretty modest about our chances with the Hawks fans here. I do think it's another coin flip game and won't be writing them off. I am confident that we can play and am expecting a 4 quarter belter.

Will be getting away at 4 thankfully and heading to the Mountain View at about 5 :)

Work non existant. Hungry jacks just consumed. (Worked last week) Nervous more for the fact I've already paid $700 to go to Perth next week. Hope I'm not dissapointed. Should win but who knows.

This game is simple. Win the midfield/pressure battle and we win.

We have the scoring firepower, just need to get the game on our terms.

Go Goody, and Go Dees.

How long is the drive to Perth?

No idea. Long I'd imagine. They have aeroplanes these days.

I cunningly planned my work flow this week to have all the intricate stuff boxed off yesterday. Monday is totally setup.

Now to while away the next 2 hours sneakily browsing Demonland!Ā Ā

Itā€™s a long way, best done with young kids.

Landed but so tired. Had a lovely old lady snoring louder than a Massey Ferguson under fullĀ load and passing enough wind that half the plane was reaching for the oxygen masks Ā

Looking forward to hopefully catching a few Zā€™s this morning before grabbing aĀ coffee and the rag for a peruse.Ā

Whereā€™s pre game hydration take place?

Hopefully you were kicking against the windĀ

One ofĀ those days where the wind favoured the opposition at each change.Ā

So they can share the driving?

Very smart! Wish I was that diligent!

Luckily, my desk setup makes it clear that I have my mind on the job today...

Ha! I've got my jumper hanging on the wall above my monitor! ;)

Feeling very relaxed.Ā Ā  We are going to blow these muppets off the park.

Winning a flag aside, I can think of nothing better than eliminating Geelong and Hawthorn in consecutive weeks in the finals.Ā Ā Ā

THANKS to those that posted about how long it took them to get in to the ground last week. I can't there until 7 and thought I'd miss the start - from your posts it appears that should be fine. One thing less to stress about! LOL

Itā€™s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the Ā Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measlyĀ 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?Ā  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
