Changes v GWS Giants

Although it's unlikely there is still an outside chance of us cocking this one up. Unless there are serious question marks (Hibberd eg grabbed his hammy) we should field our best side and try to get as much momentum for September.

Spargo would be the only one I'd drop but I don't know who comes in as no one really did much at Casey.

ah.  of course... Spargo

But will we.  He's a little terrier...  our youngest player.

Do we have anyone left who can replace ANB?

His fumbles destroy us.

He's had a very poor last 3-4 weeks after having an excellent year. He's not going anywhere.

Resting players?? You want a final in Sydney?

We have a bye anyway

No, he's getting to contests other won't.

He will improve, as we get better.

I shudder to think what he and Tyson will be like in finals pressure.

Tyson wont be playing finals.

Viney will be in week 1

Tyson will be playing finals 100%

Tyson gets absolutely no respect. I was a former Tyson hater too but he's very handy.

No change. If anyone goes out it could be Weidemann for Garlett or someone else with some pace. You need heaps of it on the G, and you need even more against GWS.

AVB will be a fine at worst- careless and very low impact.

No resting players unless there’s a niggle that could be made worse by playing.

Next week is another must win for mine in order to maintain winning form and better our chances of a home final.

In addition, we have a bye the following week, so anyone who misses next week, would essentially be out for two.

Spargo is looking tired and not physically strong enough for the contest ahead.  But who are the options for next week. Corey Wagner was Casey’s best but he is not MFC listed.  No real alternatives in my opinion

no change until Viney ready week 1 of finals

Could we play Corey anyway and if they ask just tell them he is Josh.

Outside of Hibberd with his hammy and Spargo potentially needing a rest, you would think we wouldn't make any further changes outside of that.  We would want stability in the side heading into finals, and the players get a week off to rest up as well which will only help a few of those who need a rest.

So unless Hibberd doesn't get up I'd expect no change.

The Eagles don't have a wingman with Gaff out so we Tyson was very effective. He's still far too slow off the mark and shaky with the ball to be anything more than 20th+ player in a top 4 side but he deserves credit for some improvement in the last month, always working hard to get the ball and having strong hands in the contest. I worry about him against the Giants, and sides like the Tigers but I credit him for giving it his best.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
