swear a lot less in the 24 hours after the game.  I think I set a new record after the Swans game.

I feel like that every week after a loss. By Friday I'm busting with optimism irrespective of what happened in the previous game.

Yeah but I feel it a little more than usual at the moment. We've got some good players back in and the Eagles only just fell over the line against the Power last week without Ryder and Dixon for a large chunk.

After beating them last year (albeit at Subi) I reckon the team should be supremely energised to get this win and that being compounded by all the media garbage that we are mentally fragile and can't beat a top 8 side.

I can see a six goal margin in our favour.

Starting booking Accomodation online to whatever state we have to travel to play a final and hopefully not have to cancel it like last year.

I have never tipped against my team. In saying that I have never done very well in any of the footy tip comps.??

I mischievously posed the question upon this:

Money is indeed money.. but in effect it's replaceable.

Footy tipping however is a different currency. You either win or lose. This time of year many tipsters can't afford any errors.

If you're a bit behind then the maverick selections come out :)

i have to admit...I haven't selected the Dees in my tips.

But I certainly hope we do win.

I always donate $10 to the Salvo guy outside the MCG. I was aghast when I could not find him on Sunday. I assume they didn't want to take away from the BCNA tin rattlers.

If we win on Saturday I will donate $100 to the Salvos the following week.

Lots of promises made this week. I wonder how many will be honoured?

I will be putting my $100 note in the Salvos tin on Sunday with a big smile on my face.?

So glad I don’t fly on my next business trip until 9am on Sept 30th.... premiership, party all night, hangover, sleep and watch the replay on the plane all the way to LA

Too premature?

There is a strong chance after today’s win, I WILL NOT tell the bass playing bunny to go and get [censored] again next week, as I walk past him up the hill towards Jolimont Railway Station.

You're giving money to one of the wealthiest organisations in the world. One that contributes nothing to the poor.In fact they exploit poverty. Give your money directly to a homeless person.

I do voluntary work for the salvo"s for approx. 23 hours a week and have done for nearly 4 years and prior to that, I worked closely with the financial consultants and the Major in charge of Southern Australia at their Bourke Street mission for  over 3 years so I have a fair idea of the work they do and I am calling crap on your post.

So you have the gall to criticize the players and club heavily on this site without being a paid up member, says what type of person you are.

Good on you. I work in women's health and have seen the amazing work they do with women and children affected by family violence. My $100 is going into their tin on Sunday as promised.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
