Got a feeling Melksham misses another week.

 Yep, Pedo definitely

Almost reckon Spargo due a rest also... Hunt in maybe for extra defensive cover

Salem and Fritsch to play more HB

Spot on I reckon DD. Melk will play.

Why are posters calling for JKH's axing?

He gets to contests quickly and always seeks out Jesse

T. Smith to cover for Melk if injured or possibly replace Vanders if he doesn't pull up well/needs more fitness.

If Hunt isn't right then all we can do is move Fritsch to half back to cover Joel Smith, slide Vanders/Tracc in to more midfield time and play an extra forward.
Harmes to tag Heeney, that's vital.

Time to make the move with Pedersen in for Oscar. Oscar just lost all confidence, can't watch the footy and keep track of his man at the same time. Frost really the only option for Buddy unfortunately because Joel Smith would've been a good 2nd choice back up. So the other keep b

Sadly dislike the lack of pace in the backline given the way the Swans leave open space for their forwards but without Lever, Hibberd, J Smith and Hunt underdone it's the best we can do.

Ive been a JKH critic but think he's looking a little more comfortable.

Melksham for Smith is my only change and if Melks not right Wagner comes in.

Get Hibberd right for the following week

I don't expect him to play well against the contested based Swans but I also think Lewis, Tyson and Vince are slow, Vanders isn't fully fit, the key backs aren't great and most of the team badly needs to use the ball better inside 50.

Agree he stays. Doing a lot right with smart running, decent hands and doing enough in the contest.

Can only speak for myself but:

  • Milkshake is obviously best 22 and JKH is the least good player in that general position. It's not an axing per se - more just an 'edging out'
  • My changes are two direct like for likes. I'm certainly far from sold on it and would consider a non-like-for-like change (e.g. in Melk, out Smith) change and a shuffle of positions, but generally I think like-for-like is the best way to go to avoid too many disruptions
  • If Milkshake isn't ready, JKH stays in

Keeps improving, was solid today without getting a lot of it

In: Hunt, Melksham

Out: J Smith (inj), JKH

Frost to buddy (OMAC won't have a drop of confidence against another good tall forward), Harmes to jack, parker, kennedy etc... (whoever needs a good tag)

There's no way they'll pick Hunt. First game back in the VFL after most of the season out.  Far too risky given what is at stake.

He's not flash or popular but Wagner has been playing all season and is primed IMO.  I'll be surprised if he's not selected to replace Smith.

Who was on that Sun today - bobbed up and bagged five.

Cover Buddy then there’s Ronke

you are probably right when you say Wagner over hunt, Wagner played well in the early stages of this year and your right about not bringing in hunt who is returning from a big injury.

what do you reckon about pedo in the backline?

IN: Melksham

OUT: Smith (unfortunate he was playing good football too)

Vince was on sexton from memory & played poorly imo

I think Ronke got injured last night

Vince can do only one thing well now, apply a pest-like hard tag in the middle. He was woeful today, his opponent kicked more than half of the oppositions score FFS!

He will be dropped when Hibbo is back. No doubt. Gotta go.

I see just one change next week with Melksham coming in for poor Smith.

Sadly no other quality players will be fit.

Omac will NOT be dropped. No way.

It's interesting, if Frost goes to Franklin then who will O. McDonald play on?

They have a fairly small forward line.

He can play on the bloke in the first row

Probably not a popular call but Vandenberg was very poor...just so slow. I’d drop  him for Melksham.

Not sure who to bring in for Smith

If Melksham is fit I'd bring him in for Smith and play Fritsch more in defence (we've had him down there and he's looked right at home).

If Melksham's not fit then I think Wagner is the best option we have. I wouldn't be going with Hunt after just one VFL game, and I don't think Pedersen is the right sort of player against Sydney's forward line.

I don't expect more than one change but if Melksham is fit but the FD wants someone else to play in Smith's role, then I'd drop JKH to make room for Melksham and then Wagner replaces Smith.

Tom McCartin maybe? 192cm.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
