Had another look - counted 6 players who may have won their spots ,made a difference or played well ( according to your 3 word summary )  - and we lost by 2 points ! Your three word summary is not worth 3 words - two will do - mostly crap! /

Why don’t YOU give us all the benefit of your totally cool, calm and rational 3 word analysis?

Edited by joeboy

A tough analysis to give after that.  Feeling gutted and completely ripped off.

JKH - Casey Demons Beckons.

cant see the kid getting another go.  He doesn’t seem to fit anywhere, and doesn’t do enough

Garlett - seagull not vulture

Not enough of the old Jeffy to commend

OMac- 10 minutes too long

coach cooked Oscar.  Needed more support in the last, perhaps an extra man playing 5 in front of the Frisch-puncher.

Max- not quite to the max

a bit of an off game, and off the ground at the wrong times

Midfield- outwilled, outworked and lacked polish for 20 minutes.  Won the rest.

Umpires- not awful, but a few absolute howlers leading to goals

Spargo was great early, Trac looking good, Joel Smith not out of place.

Jeffy: doesnt look interested

Seriously, he looks like his mind is halfway out the door. Haven't seen him smile in the last two weeks. Possibly may request a trade end of year?

OMac - TGR sticks fat

I'm sticking fat with Omac too.
Gets a raw deal among the supporters.
Didn't see 'em squealing when he held Hawkins to nothin' last game.
Startin' to put on some proper size now too.
Gonna be a big unit when he's done and could be Tmac II when moved forward.

its easy to defend im today's afl mate. theres 40 players in the 50m arcand plenty of help. holding hawkins goalless was more due to the game. i dont recall omac winning a lot of 1 on 1s in that game. 7 goals in today's game is probably equivalent to 10 goals about 10 years ago. id much prefer joel smith or frost. joel smith played really well yday.

p.s. i don't care how big omac gets, he'll always be slow in the body and slow in the mind

I'm ashamed to even read these above words! joeboy you must of been an amazing player!

Where to begin.

Fritsch was awesome tonight.

Spargo very good again.

Clarry very good.

Big Max Awesome.

Jordan Lewis classy.

Frost was good.

Jones played well as usual.

Angus good and spirited.

Harmes was busy retarding there's.

Jeffy not so good.

Jake Melk great when he was there.

Petracca doing good things.

Nev Jed great.

Big Tom fantastic.

Dom better, but still problematic.

Joel smith great fighting ability and still very promising.

Salem class.

Bernie. Reassures us. (Back off haters).

Kennedy looking fitter.

Oscar exposed again.

Jesse good when in possession.

We lost when we should of won. Jones needs to command more off the ball. Composure in the final minutes could of won this match.

We lost when we should of won, so I personally look at all the positives.

Agree with this assessment rather than the one that intimated we got done by 186 points.

Oscar appears to be back as the fall guy again, but he is the last in line and their midfield played the last quarter really well in the way the Fwd line was so open and the delivery was to die for.

Why didn't we draft Kelly ????? He is exactly the player we need ( a midside midfielder with silky delivery )

When the mids go missing its hard for the backs man.

Glad we didn't.
He's keen on going home West.
Geelong look like losing him.

just noticed brayshaw only had 73% game time and tyson (21 poss and most clearances at 7) had least game time of whole team at 63%  (even jkh had more)

would like to see inside mids game time in last qtr

JKH card should now be marked.
Gets his chances during games and fails time and again.
I've got a similar bead on ANB during clutch plays.
Cannot handle the pressure.

Only  2 points but the Cats are ordinary. Been about as spasmodic as the Dees.

Agree Joeboy was harsh and didn’t reflect on some of the positives

but like most of us, deeply scarred by another frustrating loss that cuts like a knife through our red and blue veins

Really....

I always like Joeboy's analysis, even if I don't always agree. I particularly like his segue from Spargo to Garlett.

I'll defend ANB. He set up many goals with some surprisingly precise kicks. I thought it was one of his better games.

And a three word analysis of the coaches' box: Slow to react

The Age must see it differently. They gave Jetta 7 votes.

Agree quite strongly, two nice rebounds from OMac set the game up. This is obvious, surely? It gave us some new hope not seen in other games this year - or last year, for that matter. Then, he lost it, totally.

Hibberd, Viney and Speed were great losses tonight. Pedo should have been a back pocket tonight, changing at CHF - supporting both OMac and Hogan, Gawn and Spargo and Jeffy.

ANB was off with the pixies and the deadly momentum wasters (Vince and Lewis) could seriously think of how they could be paying the MFC back for all of their limited contributions.

Harmes, Gus, Oliver and Fritsch worked hard.

OMac undid all of their hard work.

The ball came in easily to Hawkins from the midfield domination of Geelong in the last quarter when our midfielders went to sleep. Oscar had little or no support unlike the multiple Geelong defenders on Hogan who ganged up and went up for the ball every time it was kicked to him.

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
