What changes should we ring in - if any?

cannot see many changes if any.

JKH and Hannan would be under scrutiny but both are likely to keep their spot.

If Baker were to have  a good game for Casey he could come into the mix perhaps in place of Hannan.

Jetta was off for most of the last quarter so there could be an injury worry there

JKH laid 8 tackles and had 4 score involvements. He would have done what the coach had required of him to earn his spot for another week. 

Depending on how Casey goes, might be Hannan for Tyson.

If he plays four quarters today and at the level of intensity of last week, I would love to see Vanders in for the run home!

What about bugg.... he is a tough player and maybe kent

Me too, think fitness would be a question mark over running out games? Unsure about the work he has done there but he would really lift the team. 

Geelong are not an overly quick team. We might need another inside mid to help mitigate the selwood/ablett/Dangerfield types around stoppages. (We will miss Viney against this mob)

Hannan would be my out, but not sure if there is a guaranteed in that should be selected. Dom Tyson is an option but his season hasn't been one for the highlights reel so far.

If Vanders has another good game today at Casey would be in the running to replace Hannan

No one at Casey is really demanding a spot on form. Of our players who are considered fringe, all probably did enough:

Frost- struggled by foot but defensively and areially was very good. 

Hannan - little impact but kicked 1.2, and generating/taking opportunities is his job

Garlett- less impact than liked but kicked 2.0 and just provided a constant threat over the back which needed to be defended. 

Spargo - added abit of spark and intensity and kicked 2 goals

JKH - struggled abit but worked his way into the game and laid 9 tackles

 

We seem to mostly have the balance right in terms of player types, however definitely added amedium forward for an inside mid this week.  And given geelongs engine room, my predicted changes:

Think Hannan will be in trouble. Was very poor for much of yesterday.

Wonder if Bugg will ever reappear?

Where's Tyson going to play? On ball, ahead of Oliver, Brayshaw, Harmes (tagging) or Petracca/Jones. Selwood, Dangerfield, Ablett, Kelly etc have a lot of burst speed, I'm not sure Dom could lay a hand on them.

Or wing ahead of Fritsch, JKH or Jones where the likes of Duncan, Murdoch etc run off him.

Including Oskar Baker and moving JKH to half forward should be an option, but if they wanted to pick Baker I feel they would've done it by now.

I think Hannan survives for another week, but if not I'd probably lean towards Bull Smith over anyone else. The Cats like to leave their backline deep and play 3 tall defenders, so the extra tall could be handy and I like his defensive efforts. Doubt Vanders is even close to ready but when he is that's his spot to grab.

At what stage do we talk about Oscar McDonald's declining form and letting Schache run off him far too easily in the first half? What do Keilty and Pedersen have to do to grab his spot or are they only depth?

Unsure about Hannan's game, involvement and decision making.
Can Harley Balic get a run, a mature head who is an outside runner?
Could bring Joel Smith in. Get him settled so he can play a bit more of his natural game and start taking some marks.

Will wait on the Casey reports but I would be keeping and eye one:

Kent (Pace and goal sense if they deem Hannan to be on the chopping block)

Tyson (Viney’s absence may give him the opportunity to play in his natural and only position of inside mid)

Bugg ( he’s far from my personal favourite, but he finds the ball and has a good goal sense... but average set shot)

There are some players who like going up against certain teams. I know Menzel is returning from injury but he always seems to have a field day against us. Trying to think who we would much up with him. Hibberd maybe/probably?

Good points. Would us throwing Smith in, if fit enough, with roving commission up the ground, instead of Hogan, who appeared very stimulated yesterday and quite happy, while outnumbered sometimes, into the bargain, solve their three tall  defence obstacle?

Not sure why people are calling for Tyson’s return. Firstly, his form has been poor every time he’s played in the ones. Secondly, we were virtually 2 inside mids down yesterday (Viney, and Jones had a shocker) and we certainly didn’t miss Tyson yesterday. 

No change but I would be keeping a close eye on Kent for Casey.

I wouldn't go near Pedersen or Weideman but I think Smith is a different type of player. Instead of a bad pressure player like those two he's a good one, and the forward line functioned very well with him in the side against Blues, Crows and Dogs. Against the Power his pressure was good but he got in the way as a tall, but we also didn't have Garlett or Spargo in the side that game, we pretty much played 6 marking forwards who all got in each others way. With Garlett and Spargo flying around I think a 3rd tall could work if they decide Hannan didn't do enough. 

Oscar played very well the first month when Lever was in bad form, I'm not convinced he's reliant on Lever. His main issues right now are that he is losing concentration and letting his man get easy disposals in uncontested play and in the contest he's focusing on the man not the ball too much. His first half on Schache was terrible. It's not to the stage of dropping him but it's worth monitoring the form of the other Casey key defenders.

On second thoughts, no changes.

Balic carrying the flu and didn't play at Casey not fit for the big show. Joel Smith's injury sets him back, so don't want him in as he is only just performing at AFL. Give him a bit more time at Casey.

At least Vince has experience, courage, can read the play and able to close a player down.

Hannan still a possible out but I can't see who comes in.
