Confirmed by Ben Guthrie as a stress fracture in his tore.

Shocking luck! All the best bill.

Nothing worse than a fractured tore.

Such bad luck for him.  Puts in his best game for the Dees, then this.

Hope he hasn't been playing with a 'hot spot' ala Tom Mc early this year...

We have a bit of experience treating foot injuries.  So hope he is up and about quickly.

Edit.  Just read the Training thread and it seems he is out for the year ?

Kept TMac out for a while.....

Best of luck with it Billy

Oh ffs what’s is with foot and toe issues/stress issues at our club?!

gosch's?

Dam I was hoping Stretcher would be playing in September like his old man...

Footy was tough then, and Steven was often targetted off the ball or as he kicked

I really do not know of another club who has so many players with foot/toe injuries as we have had in recent times.

Damn he looked good giving us the run and carry we badly need last week...chance for Baker to debut now?

That's a shame for him and us as we need outside run at the G. He was much improved Vs Freo compared to his form earlier this year and late last year.

Apparantly Oskar Baker's not ready, so who comes in to replace that outside run that Stretch provides? JFK? Tyson?

Dean Kent maybe? He played well at the G earlier in the season

Hes been playing as an inside mid for 2 years at Casey.

Agree he deserves a shot but can he play the Stretch/outside mid role?

Has never had much pace

Hmm.  Given he's been dead for close to 55 years, i'd kinda doubt it!

Hadn't connected the dots Daisy.  But, it IS a fact we've won just the one flag since the sad demise of JFK!  Any connection?

I think you're Misson the real culprit.

Good luck on the rehab Billy.

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
