They are not the team they were a few years ago. They are beatable and we can do it if we are switched on from the start. It is vital we start well.

Keep looking at the ladder and worried about how we win three of the run home (if 13 wins required to get in).....

WC, Swans, GWS, Adelaide, Geelong all hard games (not sure anyone could be confident in any of those results going our way.

Suns game would hopefully be ok.

So which two games can we wil of the ones above?

Ridiculous how hard our run home is.  The teams we are competing with for the 8 have it easy,  of course.

Yep, we're not out of the woods yet, but we only have ourselves to blame. We should never have dropped that game against St Kilda, which has put us under such great pressure. Winning 3 of our last 6 is so much more daunting than only needing 2.

I like it, get to see if we’re pretenders or contenders. Don’t play low sides in finals so bring it on.

I have us only winning one more maybe 2, but of course happy to be wrong. Heading to peroni lounge next week to watch 

Hawthorn and Geelong losing is obviously helpful, but GWS winning is a reminder that there are still plenty of sides ready to take our spot if we slip up.

If we can beat Geelong next week, that will go a long, long way to securing our finals spot.

Silly comment. We've had an easy run so far, only 4 games against the current top 8.

And wrong, too. Sydney still has to play North, Essendon, Collingwood, us, GWS and Hawthorn. GWS has to play Port Adelaide, Adelaide, Sydney and us. Port has to play GWS, Adelaide, West Coast, Collingwood and Essendon.

Plenty of sides have tough runs home, even if Geelong and Hawthorn don't (meanwhile Geelong lost to the Dogs two weeks ago and Hawthorn just lost to Brisbane).

Will only have ourselves to blame if we miss.

Had to beat Geelong round 1 without Danger, Henderson, S Selwood, Ablett off no pre-season, and Harry Taylor off in the first quarter.

Botched selection for the Port and St Kilda games also completely our own doing.

We can roll the Cats at Kardinia Skilled GMHBA Stadium.  What works in our favour is the smaller ground - I'm going by assumption, but I think it's closer in size to Adelaide Oval (someone will prove me wrong no doubt, which I deserve as I didn't check) and it will suit our game style.  Gawny should give us first use out of the middle most of the time, and if we can have the same synergy like we did in the second half today then that will go a long way to helping us win.

I still see us as a huge chance against the Crows (we play that oval well) and against the Swans and GWS over here.  The Eagles in Perth is always a challenge, but we did it last year so there is no reason why we can't do it again.

I think the players are full of confidence and I'd back us in for our last 6 games of the season.  There is no reason why we can't win all of them.

I agree about the flakiness of other clubs, but I reckon it all comes down to next week. We beat Geelong and we make finals, lose and I don't think we'll get there.

Six weeks of 'finals' before we play finals. Can't think of a better way to prepare. With the number of 8-point games we have lined up, we should be in first with 100+ ladder points by the end of the season.

Seriously, we'll be there if there's a reason for us to be there other than just a pat on the head.

We'll be going down to Geelong to hunt a spot in the top 4, with the side benefit of putting ourselves 2 games and a mountain of percentage clear of a rival.

We’ve had a few results in our favour so far this weekend, not only our come-from-behind win, but Geelong, Richmond and Hawthorn’s losses and seeing Essendon being pushed by the Suns.

If North can slog out a win against Sydney and West Coast bring Collingwood back to earth, our quest for Top Four may not be a pipe dream. Icing on the cake if Freo cause an upset against Port. Our destiny is in our hands but yesterday’s Third Quarter has renewed my faith that we can do it!

I think from a top 4 point of view we would prefer Collingwood to beat West Coast wouldn’t we? Given we play West Coast in the run home, it could be their spot we are trying to pinch, whereas we have no influence in Collingwood’s final ladder position so they may as well win every game from here on.

Add to that Geelong round 1, and less obvious but still winnable game against port. Shoulda woulda coulda been fighting it out for top spot

Geelong game is worth 8 points to us in the run home. It's gives us 4 and takes 4 away from Geelong who should be going in as slight favourites gown at Geelong.

Beating them is so important to our finals chances.

We need to keep winning obviously but Brisbane might do some damage to teams hovering just above/ below us on the run home with the form they’re in.

On current form you would back Brisbane v Cats and probably North.

They can beat anyone.

We have the ideal run home with only one team out of the hunt for finals being GCS. The other 5 matches will be finals like intensity against the teams we will likely face in September so no point in playing finals if we cannot beat them, with the toughest matches v WCE and GWS to compete for top 4 position.

I'll be at GMHBA next weekend to watch what promises to be a great contest.

I can’t see us beating geelong, Adelaide, WC or Sydney. That’s also giving us a win against GWS when isn’t an easy task.

Fingers crossed that lions beat Adelaide next week essentially knocking them out of the race. Adelaide then might start resting players for next year.

Top 4??? What planet are you on? We need to win 3 from 6 just to make the 8 and we haven’t beaten anyone in the top 8 all year. We will be lucky to make the 8

Before our little 'run home there might be a little hill or two to climb.

We can only ever play the 'other' team...where ever, but we're still a long way from certainty.

In some respects it was 'only' the Doggies but I saw something encouraging I wasn't expecting to see. It wasn't the , stuffing around of the first half, nor the Footy Lesson of the 3rd QTR...not even the boxing up and ribbon tying of the last. It was that we broke the shackles of some silly idea that our footy was only ONE particular method.

With this tucked under our arm we may yet make a first of the weeks to come. Can not afford to blink or stumble.

Are we really relevant to September ?
