Jonesey has his own ad!!

Watching in Phuket. Getting some funny looks from the locals with my constant shouting at the tv. Need more composure inside 50. Should be winning easily.

regardless of the umpiring we have a lot of players not doing anywhere near enough especially in the forward line. These guys need to put their bodies in and need to chase and tackle. i wouldnt mind if they tried to kick a few goals as well. We are keeping port in this game, with the sheer weight of inside 50's we should be miles a head at the moment we are damn lucky to be in the lead.

if these guys want to play finals they need to go out and prove it and not just leave it to Viney and others

Why do you think we have so many inside 50s?

Maybe forward pressure?

Is it just me or is Hogan really out of touch and being just a passenger tonight. Might need to go back down to the VFL and ragdoll a few seconds players to get some confidence back.

Move him up the ground ?

His only mark was on the wing.   Certainly out of touch.

C’mon Jesse ..... a bag in the third and another bag, shared with Tom, in the fourth.

Pleeeease

Big half for Goodwin imo. He has a team cracking in, and if he can figure out a way to goal, we win.

Was poor last week and poor again this week. If he lifts and gets on his bike this second half we’ll win.

There's a wild Riccuito on my screen. Someone get the tranquilizer gun.

Have you seen the delivery to him?

Missing a small forward likeJeffy. He would have got two by now with the amount of inside 50 ‘s we have had.

Hogan is not the problem. Port are successfully holding us up at the wing, flooding, and he is surrounded by 4 or 5 guys at every contest. There has been zero adjustment. He needs to move up the ground and we need to be cleaner across the middle of the ground. It is not so much delivery going forward that is killing us. We are simply allowing them the freedom to flood.

Bloody Hell, Dermott making sense.....What sort of parallel universe is this?

Good footage of Hogan on Fox Footy not flying for his marks. It was his main skill in his debut year.

Dont understand why we always go wide when going inside 50.

Very scrappy game thus far, need to execute much better to win this. Freezing at the ground, stewy dewy on the ground.

If the game continues on like it has we just need to lower our eyes and we win this game.

Hmmm. For what it worth, I think the umps have been ok. Port flooding our 50. We have dominated most of that half for not a lot of return. Get off Brayshaws back, he's been good. best game from trac for a half a doz games. Keep this intensity up and we will win. Just need to keep doing the team thing, it will click. Much better effort than QB

Port's forward 50 open, open, open. Ours is congested and full of long bombs.

If you compare our forward syngery this week with previous weeks, it is miles apart. I don't know how many times Petracca knocked over his team mates and then fumbled the ball.

We've been rattled by the Collingwood affair and seem to be lacking confidence (Hogan and Petracca in particular).

Cannot see us winning like this. Desperation will increase along with a commensurate increase in turnovers and port goald

once they get a turnover and clearance they ran deep into fwd line in that q.

Is Hogan playing??????

Fritsch? The Smiths? Come on boys lift.

No surprise the parochial crowd absolutely influences umpiring decisions.

The Power fans are totally one eyed, and that eye suffers myopia.

We have controlled the ball but been very poor with decision making and creating space.

Every port inside 50 threatens to be a goal as their forward line is so open. Ours is the opposite.

Spite at end of quarter was more our frustration.

This game should be ours but could go either way. Many players down but T Mac keeping us ahead with scoreboard pressure.

Conditions are absolutely perfect for footy. Chilly but no wind and really no dew or moisture.

8 points on the line here.

Delivery inside 50 is reminiscent of games 1-5 this season. Bombing to packs blindly.

Lower the eyes. Melksham does this so well. Everyone else does not.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
