Could we potentially roll with someone like Wagner or Hunt? I know there's a height issue, but this week against Pies... and potentially in other games... I want Hunt's dash.

You never know. Sometimes teams lose their superstar backs to non-contact ACLs and go on and win premierships.

Maybe we can offer the Philly Eagles next year's first rounder for Nick Foles, @Macca @Gorgoroth?

Foles might be interested in the prospect of actually getting a game!

Is it nuts to send Cam Pedersen into a defensive role? He’s a quiet achiever and keeps a cool head out there. Hes 31 and only contracted till the end of the year and because of this, I reckon he’d be up for playing out of his skin and earning a place in this particularly special Demons outfit.

I've been a strong supporter of the idea of Pedda playing back. He's a lovely kick and reliable mark. That said, I think he'd have to play the full back role Oscar McDonald is playing and there's probably not room for both of them.

If things ever get to the really experimental stages I'd like to see Weids thrown back at Casey. He'd find it easier to take grabs at CHB and his clean hands at ground level would be very nice.

Guess how many games Mitch Clark played in his first year with us before going down with injury?

Yep, 11.

Totally different. ACLs are very common and recovery straight forward. Max had 3 of them. Hasn’t hurt his form. Lever is only 22. He has a long career ahead of him.

Pederson is the one I would be bringing in and send down back. I remember watching him when he played at North Melbourne. He was predominately down back and I thought he was excellent. Has played down back for us at times with success. But overall, as a backman I think Pederson is seriously underrated. He would step into that role effortlessly, and could also give Max a chop out rucking in the backline, allowing us to use Max as a target in the middle of the ground as he has a breather.

Thanks for that, but I'm just pointing out that it's a funny coincidence, Jaded.

Absolutely. Pedersen should come straight back. Plays his heart out in any role needed.

Ah, what we’d give for the dreaded 4-6 now. The morning after feels a bit bitter now. We should hear some news today , right?

I don’t think it’s skills that will be the difference between Lever and his replacement but positioning and reading of the play.

Pedo and co just don’t do that as well. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them use Hibbo in that role and someone to cover Hibbo.

You’d assume they’d send someone to try and replace him as that intercept defender given that’s the way they’ve structured and trained all preseason?

Bloke sounded gutted when outside AAMI last night.  I wish him all the best.

I think we have two options, bring in Smith as a zone/ intercept replacement or bring in a taller player as KPD replacement.

Personally, I think Smith gets the nod because he fits the structure, is more flexible (less one dimensional) and the coaches love him. I'm worried that teams with multiple tall (195+) forwards may exploit this, but we'll back our structure to prevent one on ones.

Don't underestimate the leadership despite his age and the onfield coaching, directing to man up and positioning.

We are going to miss him and his position can be filled but he can't be replaced.

Huge loss.

Yeah, probably the last bloke I wanted to get injured. Difficult to cover.

Yep. I didn’t just mean his positioning but him positioning others. That’s why I think they will try and slot Hibbo into that role and bring in some one to cover Hibbos role.

The logical thing would be that they would be having a very close look at Casey today and whoever stands out from Hunt, Smith and Frost gets the nod.

Obviously Adelaide don't have a memory as long as mine.

The mongrels pinched Scott Thompson when he was just hitting his straps with us. No suggestions from them that he was a traitor for leaving us.

And I wonder what they think about Gibbs going to them from Carlton.

Or Darren Jarman from Hawthorn!!!

Depends which way the club wants to go, could be:

1. Replace Lever with a like for like. Pedersen, Frost, Smith, Petty.

2. Use Hibberd to fill the role and bring in Hunt, Smith for run.

3. Have Fritsch/Harmes cover and bring in Balic/Stretch.

fascinating, a big decision coming.

We need Hibberd playing Hibberd's role. He's in AA form.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50.
